Why would anyone use a screen protector anymore? So you can distort the quality? I've had mine for a year now, no screen protector and no case. I never use those gross things on a screen.
I got scratches on my brand new note 20u within a week and I'm VERY careful with my phones. I was furious with myself for listening to people who said they don't use one and it's fine. I knew better.

They asked for a screen protector recommendation, not an opinion on why they shouldn't use one...

Had it in my cart but I waited too long and it went OOS. I just kept it in my cart and it was back in stock the next day (on the 5th). I may have messed up though. I wasn't sure if it went through because it had been several days with nothing but a confirmation, so I contacted CS to make sure it was coming. The next day I got a tracking number, but then I also got a letter from some foreign CS agent saying they cancelled my order because it was OOS. I called MM to tell them not to cancel the order and they said no refund was put in and that it was already on its way to Fedex.. I got a generated email from MM stating that it was refunded though.. I hate that every CS line seems to be outsourced.. You can never get anyone that actually understands the situation fully. I don't know which of them to believe.
Mine says it'll show up tomorrow. I did the same thing and then slept on it. when I got up I saw it went oos, however I still had it in my cart so I checked out anyway. I figured the worst situation would be that I got a cancellation.

I'm still in order status limbo. I ordered last Friday around 10PM EST. I spoke to the corporate Mint rep who is over on Reddit that helps out often. They looked my order up and mentioned it is still processing and upgraded my shipping to expedited when/if it does ship out. I do have FedEx delivery manager so I should know when a label may be made.

If anyone could, once you get the phone compare the colors to your old phone. I would like to know if this color issue I have is an isolated one. Ty

Colors look fine to me on my p7 compared to other phones I have or that I've seen in general.

There are tons of videos on youtube where they compare the p7 against a competitor's brand, so that might help you see if it looks vastly different to other phones (though I realize it can be tough to tell via a video).

I think something could be seriously wrong with the one you got, if you are finding it to be so noticeably bad.

I have 3 other phones to compare it to 2 G8 Powers and a G5+. All three look noticeably better. Heck the G5+ is a budget phone from 2017.

I contacted Google...they told me to take it to a repair store an hour away. I contacted Mint and they told me to refund and re-buy, BUT wouldn't give the deal price on the re-buy.

This has become such a hassle.

I was trying a bunch of things, but if I recall correctly, when the Mint app gave the message that it could not port in the number based on the info I had provided, I couldn't get any further in the setup until I deleted the Mint app and reinstalled.it. I was then able to use the temp number it had previously provided to sign-in and setup a password.

Oh well...even if this number is just temporary, I was able to use it to verify getting another google voice number for potential port out in future deals..
I'm reasonably sure now, that I somehow got around the port-in requirement and on top of that, I think I will still get the full 12 months of service!

Something I didn't mention previously, is that I used an iphone to go through the activation process, since I'm using a completely different SIM in my new p7 (AT&T plan that I use as my daily driver). Not sure if IOS vs Android version of the app, made any difference.

Anyway, for anyone hoping to swing this deal on the service plan part via a new phone number instead of porting in, I think it is doable with still getting the full 12 months.

Sounds like you probably received a lemon.

Is there anywhere close to you that might have a p7 on display at a store, to see if it looks the same as yours?

For me personally, I would not want to be dealing with a repair/potential refurb replacement, on what is supposed to be a brand new phone. I'd prefer to to just return it for a refund and wait for another deal down the road.

Phone arrived today. I opened it up and started it and......colors are all washed out. So I googled it and evidently it's an issue. I contacted Google support and they want me to take it to a repair center. My moto g8 power looks way better. I wish I knew about this issue b4.
Any chance your Pixel was shipped to you with Settings > Display > Night Light switched on by default? That setting seriously changes how colors look.

Oh no. I'm no spring chicken. I immediately went through multiple options. I then went through all of them again with Google's CS.

What does the order status on their site say?
On their site it says confirmed. They're giving me conflicting statements. CS is saying it's on its way for Monday, but it's not marked shipped yet, just label created. I also got an email from them saying it was refunded. I think it was about to be shipped and this CS agent cancelled it. It was "escalated" again. I wish I just left it alone, it was already shipping and likely would have came.
