Finally got mine today. No update or shipping info or anything.

FedEx just suddenly showed up and needed signature verification. That's it.

I put redpocket sim in the phone and it is not able to send text. The connection goes away after sometime and I have disable reenable the sim to get the connection back and it goes away in a bit. I didn't insert mint sim yet.
Did anyone try putting a foreign sim to see if it is unlocked ?
I use a Tracfone VZW sim and text was spotty too. outgoing but no incoming, Safelink support was worthless. I wish there were a longer return window but I suspect it's an easy fix and I'm using GV for text for now.

So I don't think it's the phone, it's unlocked alright, just some MVNO need to send a config to your phone, I didn't get it this time. Sometimes things just take awhile to take effect and fix themselves

fingerprint is awesome, better than my last last phone. Updates, helped, like on youtuber said, don't buy these buggy phones new.

I'm adjusting but it hasn't been easy leaving my S20+ behind. I didn't like all that bloatware but it has SD slot and better screen.

I failed to get anything out of safelink with text support so I'll go with GV for now. I was just hoping for more google offers like youtube TV for a month. I guess the photo storage is nice, just need to find something to shoot.
I found Pixel's fingerprint reader to be somewhat unreliable. I deleted and scanned new fingerprints maybe three times and finally gave up. However, I did find face recognition worked great provided there was enough light. Just this morning and on a hunch, I went to Settings > Display > Screen protector mode. I turned it on and re-scanned my thumbprints. That helped a lot, though still not perfect.

I can't really say the fault is entirely due to the Pixel. I recently renewed my CCW, where they require a new set of fingerprints every 5 years. The FBI rejected those fingerprints as well. Metro made me come in and get my prints re-scanned with better detail. Just like my Pixel. laugh out loud

I have teh same problem in some fingers. I have dry skin and is cracked. other less dominant fingers are being used, although I hate on the glass fingerprint reader. It is not very subtle like having at the back of the phone.

I am wondering, dropping in the mint sim and use it for a while would fix this.

I'm not sure, that might trigger more than text fix. I had tracfone try to hijack my lifeline long ago. Their real job is to upsell you.

I haven't been swapping phones or doing telecoms since the old TELLO days. I'm a little rusty at it now and need a refresher on it.

After putting in another carrier SIM go to settings and find the "reset wifi, cellular, and Bluetooth". Do that, wait 30 sec, and reboot the phone. Then go to play store and check for updates. That should ensure all stuff from the other carrier is gone and the latest profile for the new carrier is downloaded. Of course you need to make sure the phone is supported by the carrier you're trying to use. If your SIM is older, it may need to be replaced (easy if your carrier supports eSIM) as this phone has lots of new bands etc that an old SIM may not have the parameters for.

Also check and see what APN is getting installed with the SIM, and verify against your carrier, sometimes they require special settings to work. With Mint, using T-Mobiles APN works best, even though mint tells you otherwise. Generally the APN that is locked and not editable should be the best one to use and delete any others, but that may not be the case with every carrier, not sure.

From the day your order was made.

For example, if you bought today it would be 45 days from today.
