Too bad the large is not on sale. medium doesn't fit t regular dinner plate.
I bought this exact thingie in 2020, except the medium apple red, for $8, and use it all of the time. It is so much easier than doing damp paper towels to cover anything being reheated with bread (like pizza), especially in my office microwave where I don't have a sink handy. ;I traps the moisture or whatever to prevent the bread from drying out nearly as quickly.

As a bonus, stuff that normally explodes all over the microwave instead explodes all over this(ravioli or chili!), which is WAY easier to rinse off in the sink. I just ordered a second one for the kitchen... kind of wish the large was on sale as the bigger one might be more universal (eg when I am reheating 3 pieces of pizza from a large... the red medium cover thingie I have kind of sits on top with corners of the pizza sticking out from a couple of places, I am assuming the large would fully surround/cover the pizza and sit flat on the glass microwave plate like it is supposed to when it fits the food right).

It is also great for cooking ramen in my big porcelain ramen bowl... I sit the bowl on top of this thingie (in it's flattened/storage mode), and once cooked I can take out this cooking thingie which isn't hot at all while the ramen bowl sitting on top of this thingie that just got done with a 6 min on high will burn you at the slightest touch.

This was one of those things that I didn't know I needed until I had one, I think from a slickdeal back in 2020? Not sure why I bought the first one Big Grin.
This was probably your imagination. Plastic and rubber are transparent to microwaves. There is no way they impact the heating unless it stopped your turntable from rotating, or the moisture retention changed the outcome or texture. It definitely didn't change the actual heating.

I bought one but hated using it. Felt like it didn't heat up correctly in my inverter microwave.

I can't speak to this brand as I don't use it. I have the Nordic Ware. The covers I use come in most handy heating plates of food. No splatter of course, but they also trap most of the steam which keeps the food from becoming too dry and promotes even heating, in lesser time too. Plus there's less moisture to wipe down in the microwave.

I bought this a while back because I got tired of cleaning Chunky soup in my microwave. I've had the same experience as Mike posted. This thing is great. I've had it for a few years and it still holds up. It heats up things more evenly, especially pizza. When done cooking just rinse it off and it's good, no scrubbing. When using it you may have to add more time to what you're cooking.

The microwave I use in my office with this is a panny inverter genius sensor 1200W, it works fine with it on sensor recook, although I can't let it finish when reheating pizza or I end up with brown triangles of concrete... but that might happen with or without this thingie, not sure...

I love the look and design of this one, but it does not have a magnetic top. It's the best feature on my current cover. I've tried one without it and would never go back. Something to keep in mind. It will piss ya off eventually that this feature is missing.
