But for the money... ::shrugs::
Ok, solved my own problem, sharing here for the TLDR- You do have 180 days to download, or else you have to pay a fee to be given access again.
Probably should buy one of those intel 1tb m.2 drives so you can just download/install everything to it, and keep it completely separate as your valid install.
<<Is there a time limit on how long I have to download my Virtual Instrument libraries?
Yes. You have 180 days time to download the sounds from your User Area > My Products > (product name) > Sounds Downloads, in your User Area on www.ikmultimedi
The Sounds Reactivation Credit will reactivate the sounds download access for another 180 days time.>>
I have a bunch of IK stuff from before, so this deal isn't for me, but I have all of the software backed up on spinner drives in case I ever need to re-install for whatever reason.
And if I didn't have the backups, then $10 is not the end of the world for me.

Mixbox and the Philharmonik are good, LASS/EWQL can probably be got cheaper and I'd not use JUST mixbox (Fabfilter is usually cheap, I love neutron and ozone too)
You do need to factor in a new HDD for this, I really don't think you'd need an SSD but it will help load times
Even in the odd case you have to pay to download your sound library again once because you didn't back it up, it's $20. Factor that into the cost and it's still a crazy good deal.
It's been mentioned here but I recommend installing everything (and this goes for all of your sound libraries) on an external hd. They're not expensive. Or use a NAS. The actual software is totally separate from the libraries so it should be pretty easy to keep the software on your main hd and the library on an external drive.
As a matter of principle, would it be better if they didn't charge people for downloading software they paid for? Yes. But you are also getting so much for what you pay for, so I think it's worth the inconvenience.

At this point, I'm almost certain you are seeing a lower price because you own an IK product that cost $79 or more, which grants you upgrade discounts.
Ah well, Going to buy in, not that I ahve an audio production collecting habit or anything

Here's a review of Amplitube 5 by Pete Thorn, but as I say, this is just one small part of what you get here.

Update. I got it. Just can't let the wife find out.

In all seriousness if you don't want to support them out of principle, more power to you. I think it's great when people take a stand for their values. On a practical level however, if you are looking for even one of these plugins it doesn't make much sense to avoid what is clearly a pretty solid deal out of spite.
