I will leave this here, no need to flash firmware, you can use that docker image to enable RTSP on these devices, been using this in my apartment for the past 6 months, no issues at all, I record everything in my Synology NAS

They also have the window mounts for $5 each if you order 2+.

These help a lot if using for security camera from inside the house.

no need to flash anything just add a sdcard
to me it's worth the $20 a year for the cloud service for 2 cams
Looking for live monitoring specifically so that doesn't help - but good information for others!

There is RTSP firmware out there. Wyze app is such a mush mash of their products these days best to use tinycam pro or RTSP to your choice software. Firmware is standard across v3's either because if a giant f up they still haven't fixed and some other ongoing bugs always with a fix "coming soon". Pretty ready to go the RTSP route myself but not sure what I would use on iOS for quick viewing feeds.
Yeah, I've got a Blue Iris server if I wanted to use these as RTSP IP security cams.. but I'm thinking of grabbing these for live monitoring of 3d prints Smilie Thanks for the info

The HD website says: "This item is only returnable in store." Is that true if you ship to home? I don't want to have to trudge to Home Depot to return this if it doesn't work.
I'm really curious why this wouldn't be your preference. You would rather bring it elsewhere for a return?

Actually on second thought...this wants your wyze username/pw to function. I see that they say it streams locally, but requiring wyze credentials, it seems like it may still be fairly attached to Wyze cloud services.

Hey HD, I have a $1K+ order in the cart. Should I save all items for later and get this $35 knickknack now instead?

No you can load with a micro SD card (use high endurance) and will record to that locally.

I have 128gb high endurance cards in mine and no issues.
Can you view recordings from the SD card remotely to desktop via the Wyze desktop interface or do you need to pull the SD card to view?
