Right now at Amazon, it doesn't make sense to get the Aspire 3 when $10 more gets you an Aspire 5 with Ryzen 5 5500U, 256GB SSD (Versus 128), 8GB upgradable RAM(can't upgrade the Aspire 3), Win 11 Home out-of-the-box (Versus S mode)… any one of those would be worth the extra 10 bucks, but all together it's worth much more than that.

Absolutely hate this AMD idea of calling everything 7 series. This has 2 gen old Zen 2 cores i[notebookcheck.net]n it. you are better off getting zen 3 based (like 5625U)or even better rembrandt (Zen 3+ like 6600U) 6 series cpu based laptops.

The Zen 2 cores aren't the latest, but they are efficient, so battery life should be good. They're clocked higher and have faster RAM than the older 4000-series Zen 2 processors as well. They've also swapped out the old Vega-based iGPU with an RDNA2-based one. It's not quite as bad as it looks. The non-upgradable RAM at only 8 GB would concern me more.

Rembrandt is extremely efficient. Alder lake U[pcmag.com] series chips are efficient as well. Even Tiger lake laptops are faster. I dont see why go for Zen 2 which was released like 3 years ago and now just packaged with soldered ram. Better off buying zen 3 with DDR4 dimms and at least RAM can be upgraded.

I wouldn't use this laptop if it was free.
