When you speak about the MCACC from Sound and Vision I assume you saw the rest of the sentence where the reviewer said he " could not make a meaningful comparison" between the RC systems?
But again...were you considering MCACC or have you been mentioning Audyssey this whole time?
If someone is considering replacement then your statement about the $1200 ish upgrade is a moot one
But again...that is speculation anyway
I dont understand how MCACC is coming into play here since it was never mentioned
Again..I can find a myriad of reviews that say Dirac is better than Audyssey
There pages of AVS forum reviews, A few custom installers that post here and a myriad of you tube A/V guys that all agree
But like I said before
If you think Audyssey is better ..then you do you
Not even sure where the MCACC subject came from though....
Even if I believe Audyssey's MultEQ-X is overall "just as good if not better", I haven't said it is for anyone else.
I just pointed out were you can find others that weren't that impressed or even choose another RC's results.
Yes S&V could not directly compare Dirac to MCACC for obvious reasons but after using both the results sounded "similar".
Everyone can take that for what it's worth.
Again if someone wants to pay $1200 for possible "similar" that's completely their prerogative.
I'm not trying to convince anyone which is "better" for them especially when you consider the cost.
I'm just giving my impression from personal experience just like all those other opinions on here,AVS,S&V, etc.

Not in the league or Trinnov or Room Perfect
If you are quoting me..please state the whole idea such as the one I posted from S&V about the merit of what they said
" Everyone can take that what its worth"..is just a speculation idea on your part, simple as that
As for what is " similar" and what is not..you have stated your opinion.
My point was that and I will state it again
I have never seen anyone prefer Audsyssy to Dirac..period..that had experience with both formats
There are literally hundreds of people I could post statements of stating their opinion. Including a few here that say they are custom installers
I have seen yours and a review with a HUGE disclaimer in it
But..again
You do you, as I have said again and again

You asked how MCACC came into play, there you go again and I'll quote you directly:"Arguably the best compared to Audyssey ,YPAO or MCACC"
Yes I agree $1200 is a HUGE disclaimer compared to $199 and even more so $20.
Many have not found it not worth it because of that HUGE disclaimer, I definitely know many that haven't.

Said that many times..I even added recently that I would put Anthem's ( ARC )on the same level as Dirac
Again..said that many times
Yes I mentioned MCACC...but you never have ?
Then you use a a review with HUGE disclaimer and then that reviewer goes on to say that he prefers DIRAC and then speculates about how picky a buyer would be in the first place
For some reason you didnt mention all of what the reviewer said?
If someone is considering buying something as you have speculated, its a lot more than $199 than they will be spending on an AVR..right?
Where can I buy a $199.00 9.2 AVR?
We have had a few installers here that have said DIRAC is better..one person pointed out all of the issues with Audyssey. My experience agrees with that
There is a ton of information out here comparing
https://www.audioscienc
You have yet to show me where Audyseey was preferred over Dirac...
Again..you do you
But the overwhelming idea seems to be in DIRAC favor over the other Asian RC systems
Now that we have DIRAC in products at much lower price points its a new day

No one was disputing if Dirac was better or not, I know I wasn't.
I was only giving impression from experience on whether it's "worth" it over other RC's.
I and many others I know are not paying $1200 for that "better" especially when it's similar.
BTW if you go to that link or AVS you can see how that Onkyo/Pioneer AVR measures, not well.

My point to you ..again..is that you are the only person I have seen that said they have experience with both Audyssey and Dirac that say Dirac is not clearly better
Even the reviewer from S&V that you cited said "At the end of the day I preferred Dirac"
But again...you do you
As for measurements..I assume you mean amp/power supply measurements?
I have never said that Onkyo/Pioneer benched well. I have said again and again it seems like a great pre/pro
But to get Dirac standard at that price point I know they had to compromise
For the record no 9.2 AVR in that price range is going to give you stellar bench test ratings.
Its called compromising to get to a price point
SVS auto-refunded me a few weeks after I bought my PB1000... I contacted customer support and they said they dropped the price since I purchased it and retroactively refunded me a portion of my purchase. Never had a company do that before, they made a long-term customer with me.

BTW that link and AVS also show those Onkyo/Pioneer AVR's do not measure well as pre/pro's either.
Anyways let's get back on topic.

Even getting their advice is top notch and honest.
Good service does come at a price, there is no free lunch.
Agree 100% with you!

BTW...the same source shows the Denon X3800 as " not recommenced"
It did not do well in several tests either
