You have stated you have experience with the " majority of Best Buy employees", so I cannot speak from a level of experience of over 50,000 people
However..I guess I travel in the circle and know people that are most concerned with better sound quality as their prime motivator for selection
So the tested/actual/published figures for jitter, distortion and noise floor for the Denon X3800 , making it a " not recommended" piece would be a concern and one that I dont know how you would fix
In fact , according to the test evaluator, the X3800 showed a step backward " regression " in factual testing results then went further on to explain the concerns with design and build quality
Buy hey...you you do...
You are the one that said the Onkyo makes a "great per/pro" even though you admitted those "facts" say it's "not recommended" as one!

I just question your myriad of statements/beliefs such as " coming to your own conclusions" and your experience with the " majority of Best Buy employees"...

If you believe so!

But you never answered my question about what you would do to address the Jitter, distortion issues with the Denon X3800 which, according to reviewer, was related to its design and build quality issues
This all coming from a source that you have cited as litmus test of performance..
Its interesting that you keep deflecting....
Again..you do you

"Facts" measured and reviewed the Onkyo as a pre/pro and stated it's "not recommended" as one and that "aligns with the facts" that it's a "great pre/pro"!
You "fixed" the "facts" by adding an "external amp"! OK!!!
Let's not forget the bigger disadvantage & issues those "facts" pointed to regarding the Onkyo as a pre/pro, those internal amps running while that external amp does! No fix!
My AV rack is in another room for my Den/Media Room. When we gutted the room we put the sub connection in the wall in the rear of the room back to my receiver in the other room. Everywhere I am reading online showing it should be up front near the TV... Since this thing is huge, I'd rather it be in the front of the room.
Question: Has anyone used audio over ethernet solutions for a sub? I have extra ethernet available I could use if this is possible.
The second question: Does anyone know of a wireless solution I can use with my receiver in the AV rack in the other room to get the signal to a "receiver" end at my sub? I would need one w/o line of sight.

what is good? whether
1 PB2000 or
2 PB1000?
If you pair cashback deals, it should be better to go with the PB-2000. Capital One gave me a 21% offer. If you can get that or similar, that $200 price difference would be <$160.

I am back to home theater after more than a decade.
I will wait for additional deals (from CC or SVS itself).
Whatever you do, avoid Polk and Monolith. Polk uses sub-par amps/subwoofers (I've had several) and Monolith uses unreliable amplifiers, also Monoprice will only replace the whole unit if defective (can't buy parts, have to ship entire sub) and their CS is AWFUL. I've barely used my Monolith and it has had tons of issues…SVS supposedly has awesome CS, but thankfully I've never needed it…
I have one in an 18x18 room and although solid, have never been blown away by it. I haven't had time to do any room treatments though so I've chalked it up to that. But it always bugged me that a family member's soundbar setup (although a premium one with a Sony HT-ST5000 [sonypremiumhome.com]) seemed to hit harder even in his huge untreated, 18ft ceiling open family room.

Bass in theory is omnidirectional and facing shouldn't matter.
That said, you'll find 100 links saying it does matter, but half'll say face toward the listener, half will say face the wall, and the third half will tell you to buy a downward firing one
Ultimately sub placement regardless of facing will be hugely YMMV from one room to another.
Also if you're saying the sub on that Sony system felt like it was hitting harder than your PB2000 there's something badly, badly, wrong with your setup. Like, "are you sure the SVS is turned on" bad.
That sony sub is 30 watts.
