I own the z50 and have used the z30. IQ is exactly the same between the two. As others have mentioned, the z50 has the viewfinder and popup flash. The z30 has the full articulating LCD screen. My advice will always be this-- If your purpose is to do more video than photos-- say at least 70% video, get the z30 since it has that articulating screen, doesn't have that 30min recording time limit at 4K, and has a little better autofocusing for video. If you're more 50-50 (50% video, 50% photo), or more into photography, the z50 is the better one due to the viewfinder, flash, and ergonomics. To me the z50 is the better all-arounder.

For some, light conditions (and thus color and focus) are more precise in EVF, especially under strong sunlight or very low light. For average users, not so much.
