Most of us added the new line even though TMO reps said that we were ineligible. You'll see the promo on your account and also get a text message within an hour. You will not see the promo when adding a line. You will only see that there is a $30 monthly cost for the new line. Just submit the order. Their website is acting wonky, so go ahead and use your S22 Ultra's eSim to activate the new line. Both my iPhone 14 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro showed up as incompatible. But, I easily activated the eSim on the Pixel. Let us know how it goes. Good luck
1) Do you mean just add the new line like you regularly would online without seeing or applying any discount or promo during the process? And then most likely the line would show this promo after it has been added?

2) what if the line after it has been added does not show as free? Can it be cancelled and everything stays the same as it was before the line was added?

Not free, you pay taxes on this line. This promo is to pull people to magenta max, which is a rip off. So long term you adding a free line is still more than a paid line via simple choice, military, first responders, senior plans
How much are the taxes per month for this extra line?

Can anyone confirm?

0. Because this deal is for Magenta Max customers whose taxes are already built into the plan price.

1) Yes
2) You can cancel within a few days, if the promo doesn't show up. However, there are a few circumstances where your account may not be restored to it's prior state e.g., if you are at 8 lines.

This promo is only for Magenta Max, Personal accounts (not business), etc. You are taking a risk and making an informed decision when adding a line. There are numerous data points in this thread where people who were ineligible (according to TMO) did get the free line, including me (twice - Dec 2022 and now). Good luck

I'm confused. I only have one line, Magenta, on my account. If I call in and upgrade to Magenta Max, add another Magenta Max line so that I can add a free Magenta Max line? Then cancel the second paid Mangenta Max line to keep the free Magenta Max line? If so, that would be awesome. Would I have to pay the prorated fee for the second paid line?

I was in some old plan for years with 2 paid lines and 1 free line and switched to magenta max last year.

In December of last year I also added that free line everyone took advantage of.

So now I have 2 paid lines and 2 free lines on Magenta Max plan for $140 total.

Should I risk it by adding this line?

I am afraid for the free line I added last December.

For future use or you can use multiple lines on same phone via card or esim.

If it's free why not have it?

THe problem is I am not able to select esim because the option is greyed out and the only other option is for physical sim. How do you go around that? If I do physical sim then it will take sometime to have it shipped or unless I pick it up from local store?

Ok thanks. Just wondering if there was something else I was missing.

Well, my plan history is very similar to yours. I moved to Magenta Max a year ago. I got the Dec free line and now this free line. Adding or canceling this new line should not affect your Dec free line. I have 2 paid + 3 free lines for $112 monthly (including insider discount). I'm sure you will get the new free line without a hitch. Ensure that you activate an eSIM and not a physical sim. You will see the promo reflected on your account immediately, if it works out. Let us know how it goes.

Here are the steps:
1. Login
2. Select Add a person or device to my account
3. Select Phone
4. Select Bring your own phone
5. Select Let's check your device compatibility
6. Input the IMEI number of your phone's eSIM. If you input 15 digits without any spaces, the 'Check eSIM compatibility' button will be enabled. Click on it.
7. The 1st 2 bullets in the compatibility results may fail. As long as your phone is unlocked and bought in the US, it should work. The 3rd bullet 'your phone is eSIM compatible' should have a green check mark. The eSIM option SIM type should now be selected.
8. Proceed with the process of adding the new line.

Add another successful data point for it working despite already having free lines:
I have Magenta Max, 2 paid lines and 6 free lines. T-Force via Twitter said I'm not eligible for this, but T-Mobile App support said I qualified. I added a line by myself on T-Mobile.com and activated the eSim using my iPhone 14 Pro, and after about half an hour, my online account shows "2023 Line On Us P6".
