Have both of these set and I have never ever used the Irwin tool. It's worthless it's big and bulky I recommend not buy it. Buy the socket set it's way bettter.

1/2 or 3/4 impact? Need to know which will get the job done quicker.
do not use these on an impact. all of my bigger ones cracked. i ended up hammering them back together and welding the cracks. if you want them to last long hand tools only

Seems like a tool you would never (or almost never) use. But if you did need it one day it would be a life saver. If it is a high quality, made in the USA tool, I'll bite.
Most reviews say made in USA, but some say China.
Might order a set and if it is made in USA keep it, if it is made in China return it.

Mostly just a handy way to hold the tap and secure enough it helps with keeping square on the first cuts.
Half the time I just use them as a handle on a tap, just depends what I'm doing.
