Do yourself a favor and save your money not buying this crap. Speeds are dog slow and it'll inevitably fail earlier than you want it to. You're better off getting a more reliable micro-sd + usb 3/usb-c adapter combo or something like a Samsung FIT drive. If using for write few, read many purposes, maybe it'll serve it's purpose.

From a quick glance, the team group is usb 3.1 vs usb 3.0. Usb 3.1 supports faster speeds

USB 3.0 is 5Gb/s, USB 3.1 is 10Gb/s, and USB 3.2 is the fastest at 20Gb/s

Yay! Another cap to lose! The pic shows that you can put the cap on the back of the flash drive. However, it also has a keyring loop, which you can't use if you want to put the cap on the back. I prefer PNY's design. Nothing to lose.

I purchased the 128GB PNY in 2015, and have been using it very gently for 8 years - always powered on, a few reading sessions per week, even fewer writing sessions. I'd guess I keep it around 75% full. It gets warm under heavy use. I would not assume the 2023 256GB edition contains similar internals, and if I was shopping, I'd fully evaluate all of my choices, because that's a thing I do. I'd be equally suspicious of Team and PNY today, but for $15 I'd question how expensive my 256GB of data ought to be (or if 128GB is worth $9.)

I do like having 8-16GB drives lying around all over the place to boot random OS images from. They're all USB 2.0, they're slow, it doesn't matter. Somewhere around here, there's an unopened pack of the metal Kingston ones that I can't find - in the transition from Windows XP to 7, I thought having a recovery "disc" for every PC was still important... but then I never needed one.

Edit: I'm going to second the opinion of the guy who says to go with SD cards for speed and reliability since that is just a more competitive market segment - in 2023, these high capacity flash drives feel like the crappy cheap CFLs that replaced the good expensive ones.

I got these on a price mistake a few years ago. Pretty quick and reliable for me. I use them all the time.

That's branded and sold by some random third-party seller. PNY's been in the business forever and it's shipped/sold by Amazon. Do you work for TEAMGROUP?

I've had great luck with reliability with these. However they are dog slow no way around it.

Bought one around 2018, was mostly sitting in drawer. I used it a total of maybe 10 times. Failed
