If you're having trouble getting a code from a URL on an iOS device because it opens the app or app store... its because Safari is redirecting it. If you have another browser such as Brave as your default it will open the URL and not redirect it so you can get the code

For the past two years, the person I traded for had to log in to my MLB account and activate it. The last person who DMed me said they would just give me a code if I sent them a gift card code - did something change this year that allows anyone to redeem the code?
This was true for me also last year, and I had absolutely no issues logging in and using it. I just changed the password, to make sure only I could use it. However, this year I traded the Amazon GC and was given a link. Ultimately, I ended up with an account that does NOT give me access to the MLB.TV games that I wanted to watch. I can only watch the "free game of the day", and clips. On the account, it wants me to pay an additional $150 to watch the games.
So my Amazon GC is gone, and the link says that the T-Mobile offer has been redeemed. I would strongly suggest that you only trade for a working account. Just give them your email to use, have them activate it, and then send you the user/pwd. This way, all you have to do is log in and then change the password, and you won't get stuck paying for basically nothing like I did, with a link.
