max cpu temps are generally 100 C in these laptops... then they slow down so they don't melt themselves. Have an i7 1195 from last yr that runs 35-60C on average.
The gram when idle was 60C and doing a basic internet speed test with nothing else open raised all cpu core temps over 90C. Anything more demanding would raise the temps to the point of slow down... detrimental to performance and can't be good long term.
This in addition to unusually hot feel on the top right quadrant of the base were unacceptable. High horsepower cpus like the 1260p need proportional cooling adjustments which LG clearly hasn't nailed in this lightweight machine.
Love Costco and their return policy... never any issues.

Note that fingerprint readers are not that great for older users (60+), more failed reads.
The fingerprint reader is an option that is left out in the many configurations of these laptops, and last I checked, was not in last year's model configuration at Costco.
I only wish they offered a 15" or 16" model for a similar price because I want a number keypad, and these Evo/thin laptops are skimping on the accessory ports, forcing everyone to puchase a separate multi-port (insert obligatory Fifth Element reference here) adapter for another $100 or so.

My first thought is that LG messed up applying thermal paste...or the heatsink fan is not running on his laptop.
The reviewer needed to either RMA it or return it to Costco and try again.
The LG Gram is pretty highly rated...and it did not get that way by running like this guy is describing.
This seems like a pretty nice laptop for this price..and if I did not already have an equal-spec Samsung, I would be all over it.

That's why it is important to register multiple fingers in case one or the other don't work. Make sure you name the fingerprint profiles to include which finger you scanned, and whose finger it is if you give anyone else the ability to unlock your phone (just like you do - screen, bank apps, etc). For example, you have a stroke or car accident or are knocked unconscious, and your partner, a family member, or next of kin survivors, need to unlock your phone for whatever reason due to you being incapacitated (or dead).
I'm very interested in Gram due to it's weight, but I need similar performance...
