This brand is recently being promoted. I was a sucker and bought one and its really just average at best. Total regret
Sofirn is a Top Ten flashlight brand. Some flashaholics would place them in the Top Five. These flashlights use Anduril firmware. That alone tells you they are top-end if you know even the slightest about "real" flashlights. Stop speaking if you don't know what you're talking about.

Mine worked 5 times before it started randomly flickering and going up and down on brightness. These are simply unreliable.
I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience, but I have heard of lots of positive experiences with Sofirn from other flashlight enthusiasts, and no more issues than any other brand. I've not seen any evidence that they're unreliable compared with any other budget flashlight brand.
You may have gotten a dud, but the flashlight firmware has flickering and brightness changing modes. Are you sure that you didn't just switch to one of those modes and not know how to change back to a steady mode?

I'm not sure if this is a particularly special price, but I have a handful of Sofirn flashlights including two of these. No issues with any of them. If this is your budget for a flashlight, and you want something reasonably bright and rechargable that will fit in your pocket, then you should be happy with this.
Don't expect Customer service from Sofirn. Still waiting for my refund two years later and after multiple emails due to not receiving the product. Sooner or later (or maybe never) these Chinese companies will realize their reputation is based on quality products backed by reliable Customer service.
Highly recommend to stay away from these. Mine worked 5 times before it started randomly flickering and going up and down on brightness. These are simply unreliable. I would take an $8 coast flashlight or some other single button flashlight anyway over this expensive junk
Did you contact the company at all?
Pretty much all electronics have duds occasionally. Afaik this company is good about warranty replacements. I don't have this particular light, however I do have the SP36 and the IF25a, both have been amazing (for the cost), very reliable and I have had them for a few years now.

Interesting, this is the first I have heard about this. I know they have someone on their facebook page and reddit account, try reaching out to one of those maybe?

No, No they would not.
Source - Am a flashaholic. They are good value if you get them on sale. I own a couple of them, but no one serious about flashlights consider them top 5. They are a budget/value light and that's it.

I have mulitiple Sofrins as well as nicer lights (Fenix, Zebralight, etc). These are on the same tier as Wowtac and basically knockoffs of those brands. Never been disappointed. This is probably closest to a Fenix PD32/36 with much more popular software and a lighted switch, as well with relatively newer LED tech. Def worth this price, probably not a whole lot more. They are solid and I question the negative reviews as fake or motivated by something else.
I'm a Sofrins fan, I own 5 of the headlamp style that have an 18650. Work great for doing things around the property when its dark. Never any issues with them. Going to try this and keep in the truck. Thanks!
