never played any Monster Hunter games, would any of these be good to start?

i mean, $3 could buy me a coffee one day or a game i never wind up playing.

Get monster hunter world or Rise on any system. Quality of life improvements are substantial .

I'd recommend monster hunter 4,i spent a lot of time on that game. Even with the quality of life improvements in rise/world, I prefer the older games personally.

I'd say the best monster hunter game imo is mh4u, mhworld is next and the quality of life is an added bonus.

You need to play 4u, it's one of the best singleplayer mh experiences ever made and the portability is amazing.

The rest of them are pretty worth it too in the aspect that these games are going to skyrocket in value in the future seeing that there will be no option to buy a cheap version anymore.

I love MH4U (sank about 400 hours in) but for a newbie, I would recommend you try getting Monster Hunter Rise. it is significantly more forgiving and later on in the game, (ie sunbreak DLC), you can get followers who you can hunt with instead of trying your luck with randos online.
I know this is for the 3DS stuff, so if you want to play MH on the 3DS, MH4U is amazing. It is quite unforgiving, but if you know someone who has experience w/ this game series, it will help get you up to speed. Mind you, it is still a very information dense game, but once you get it, it's all about observation and patience. Spamming usually means you're going to get your ass kicked even on starter monsters.
If you have the switch or pc, get MH Rise. it's significantly gentler on you.

Any other recommendations besides to pirate? Bought Ace Attorney Trilogy, debating buying the others but also want to save some cash incase we get a Shin Megami Tensei/Persona Q/etc. sale before the closure.
