Is there a relatively cheap lock that can hold up to a physical attack like a bolt cutter etc? Not worried about the lock picking stuff.

a big enough bolt cutter will quickly and easily defeat these types of locks. to defeat bolt-cutters, you need to protect the shackle, eg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpH2QdXFkoo

From my understanding, the vast majority of locks like this are meant to be a deterrent to the lazy criminal or opportunist.

Anyone really wanting to get access, will get access.

I've got these in exposed locations, no issues. I regularly hit them with WD40. The same thing I do with my Master Locks padlocks

This is the LockPickingLawyer and today I'm going to show you the worst lock available online. There's a little click out of one, and it's open. Let's do that again to make sure that's not a fluke. Well, we've got it open again.

Well, these locks aren't suitable for even locking up Mrs. LockPickingLawyer's Haagen Dazs and I definitely wouldn't recommend them for any use, at all. In any case, that's all I have for you today. And always, have a nice day!

Unfortunately it is a lost art - the Kronos vibratory picks allow even a novice to pop open the toughest lock in a few seconds. But 5 tumblers like these (without any decoy pins etc) are a good start for people who want to learn the manual method (3 or 4 are too easy, often a few seconds of raking will do it).

Battery powered cut off tool will get through anything, though I guess attracts more attention. My favorite is "lock pick" slugs for the 12 gauge LMAO
