You can not have more than 1 Sapphire card at the same time, and you can not get a new Sapphire signup bonus if you received one on any Sapphire card in the last 48 months.
For anyone debating on whether to go for this, know that the all time high is 100k bonus points, making this a very lucrative opportunity.
You can- I've seen YMMV reports about how many days you need to wait between cancelling and new application though.

Also things to keep in mind:

Use any credits you might have on existing card you haven't used yet.
Insure you move your UR points to a different card before closing old one.

For clarification, does the 48 month period [from prior sign-up bonus] start when you first open the account or when the bonus hits (e.g., if I opened in April 2019 but the bonus hit in June 2019; am I eligible for the new sign up bonus as of May 2023)? TIA.

does this card charge you annual fee for the first year? Do you just go to Chase branch and ask CSR you are interested in opening Chase Sapphire with 90000 point signup bonus?

thank you. Was reading this thread for the last hour and half. Seems like waiving the fee is not an option and should be charged on the first billing cycle. I always used Cashback credit cards including Chase Ink but trying to figure out if there is anything better this time. May head to the Chase branch tomorrow and expedite the card before I buy airline tickets.

I can't even figure out when I got my bonus, I can see when my card expired but it's like that CC account never existed. I changed it to the free version before the year was up and never got a new card. Can't see it in my chase account, went to branch and they couldn't even pull up the account. I opened in 09/2018 but don't know when the bonus hit.

You're eligible. 09/2018 + 48 months + 4 months

Spending period is only 3 months, add a month for the time it takes for the bonus to hit your account.

I went into branch towards the end of March and wasn't eligible. But the guy couldn't figure when I would be.

Did you cancel the card recently? Being eligible for the sub has nothing to do with him being able to see the card on his end. By now, there's no way you wouldn't be eligible for the sub based on a 09/2018 open date. You'd be the first person in history of sapphire card churning to not be eligible based on the 48 months rule if your open date is correct.

No, it's like the card doesn't exist. The free sapphire card I got after expired 09/20 and I never got a new card and it's not in my login. I will go back to branch this week and try again.

If I downgraded CSP to CFF on Thursday night , is it worth going in the branch on Tuesday to apply? (SUB was more than 48 months ago for me originally)(

Also if I do get rejected in the branch and call for reconsideration - do I still qualify for the extra 10k points?

My case is pretty similar as yours. After downgrade you should wait for at least 4-5 business days before re-apply. Since the 90k branch promotion will be ended in the 05/25/23 your best bet is Wednesday (05/24/23) don't wait until last day, save sometime to yourself just in case the application got rejected and you can call reconsideration line 1888-609-7805 to provide additional explanation. And yes, if you are able to get it approved you will be qualify for the welcome bonus. Good luck!

I ended up getting the card as well today. Look forward to earning those points. Thank you OP and other contributors. Called and asked to get the card expedited to the phone number provided by banker.
