You can not have more than 1 Sapphire card at the same time, and you can not get a new Sapphire signup bonus if you received one on any Sapphire card in the last 48 months.
For anyone debating on whether to go for this, know that the all time high is 100k bonus points, making this a very lucrative opportunity.
You can- I've seen YMMV reports about how many days you need to wait between cancelling and new application though.

Also things to keep in mind:

Use any credits you might have on existing card you haven't used yet.
Insure you move your UR points to a different card before closing old one.

I have heard their travel site has expensive options for flights. Do they offer price match?

Not all flights but some flights are slightly more expensive.

Just came out of a Chase Branch - the offer is no longer at 80K - Chase dropped it down to 70K so going to the branch is not a viable option anymore.. Frown

Is the 10K more points you get by going to a branch (vs the 60K with online application) not worth going to a branch?

If you know someone with one card already, have them try the refer a friend website. When I load mine up, they offer a 75,000 referral.
Is it 75,000 for the new account, or (up to) 75,000 bonus for the person who is making the referral?

Edited my comment. I read it wrong and it's less than 60 online.

No worries! Better off to have someone or a partner refer you as they will get 15K referral points.

Any idea what is the impact on your credit score if you *cancel* a card, which is one of 3 or 4 cards, and your score is above 800?

Probably not much impact, unless you're cancelling a very old or very high-CL card. Also, not much benefit in doing so unless the card has an unjustifiable Annual Fee.

I made this mistake years ago when my wife thought it would be a good idea to cancel all our legacy cards and consolidate all our usage on a new joint-card account (with a measly $100 SUB which wound up to be taxable). I don't think it hurt too much, but it certainly didn't help our credit scores.

Hard to say with that few cards. I have a lot of credit cards and whenever I cancel one my score usually goes up 3 or 4 points.
