dewalt does have small tool connect tags that can be mounted to anything for tracking.
don't have any tool connect tools, but seems good for the job site. iirc, the bad thing with tool connect is the tool needs a battery connected to activate tool connect. so if stolen, you will probably be able to disable it, but then it will just get thrown in the garbage.
also, unless i missing them, don't see any tool connect batteries for sale outside of kits

These were beyond useless, they couldn't pay me $40 to put them on my tools.
I used these for a less security related hobby purpose but returned them due to odd behavior / resetting when main battery was removed. Remote power management on a pass-through tool adapter for $10 isn't bad though if wanted for parts.
