Stay away from the 600B. Had one and it died after a couple of hours. Same complaints on all the reviews. Thankfully Samsung replaced it with a different model because of the warranty, but there's a reason this is so cheap.

At the same level of model number, yes. Q800B is better than S800B. But S800B is better than Q600B

I bought the Q600b on January 28th, when it was $179. I had never heard of BuyDig before and was a little nervous. But everything went well.

I thoroughly enjoy the setup. I looked at a lot of reviews comparing the Q600b and S800 before going through with the purchase. There were pros and cons to each and I decided the 600 was better for me. I don't have a need to do any passthrough. I just hooked it up via eARC with the supplied high speed HDMI cable. I think I might've pushed the button on the back of the sub to pair it, but it seems like I recall the led status showing it was already paired before I did that.

I can definitely tell the difference with Atmos, however, I have a vaulted one story ceiling. I haven't had any distortion. Bass really rumbles at +2 (6 is max). Without any satellite speakers, the surround sound is minimal, of course. Coming from a basic Vizio soundbar, this is a vast improvement. I might get the satellite speakers in the future just for kicks.

I'd buy this setup again.

Looking for a foolproof (grandparent proof) setup for my folks. They have a sammy and a sony tv. Would any of these be close to a plug and play setup?

while i have not used these, they are generally fool proof.. just need 1 wire hdmi from arc to soundbar... and then pair subwoofer.. just usually requires holding pair button and pair from tv menu.

Does the 600b support Dolby vision and hdr10+ for passthrough? I see it can do 4k 60hz or less but no mention of hdr for the passthrough. Most TVs don't have earc or output the best audio codecs, so it would be nice to pass through the soundbar, but then if that means losing hdr it's probably not worth it.

I think this is a great deal - was looking for am Atmos soundbar, and the HW-S800 is highly recommended by Consumer Reports, second only after the Sonos Arc. Hopefully this would work well with my LG G2 TV.

Got this deal on the s800b last week and paired it with an LG C2. Sounds amazing for how small it is. Goes well with such a thin tv also.
