Then you've never heard one. It's not going to have earth shaking bass by any measure, but it pairs pretty well with smaller speakers. I have one grouped with two Nest Audio speakers (connected with a Chromecast Audio). Works quite well. If it was $100 you wouldn't be far off in price from getting something much better but for $45 it's a great value

I had this. Bought it pre pandemic. Very sloppy. If you want some low end boom for a small size room, it would be ok, but you'll get tired of it. I gave mine away to people who have tv audio coming from the tv speakers. Adding this made a slight difference so long you keep the volume low.

I have this sub in my office to add some low end to a pair of desktop speakers that were lacking and it did help.

I also upgraded the cables with a decent subwoofer cable and RCA Y adapter for a big improvement in output quality over the skimpy stock cables.

I have this paired with some computer speakers for my Xbox in my office. It's pretty decent. For the price, they are pretty great.

How does this compare to the 8 inch sub in the Yamaha deal from the other day? I am guessing even in a cheaper cabinet, yst is still yst which this monoprice won't match (thus beong reviewed as sloppy)

Perfect for a desktop set or small bedroom where decibels aren't the goal. Won't shake you, but will add a lot of fullness to small speakers.

bough a 10" for the workout room TV setup, had to send it back - never worked out of box, just buzzed. new replacement "pops" on volume loud enough to pass as a compatibly loud compared to my other Monoprice surround speakers. pass. The TCL soundbar wireless sub in my office is a wee bit more impressive than the Monoprice powered 10".
