I own the AS53 (different Ibanez model in the art core run).

Cons:
- Big. Way bigger than solid body electrics I'm used to. Probably par for the course though when looking at semi-hollows. 🤷
- Action was a little high for my tastes.

Neutral:
- Came with 10s, but I've been thinking about switching to 9s to see how if sound and if playability changes.

Pros:
- Nice acoustic sound and great clean when on amp. Also not super loud when playing softly (I usually play acousticly or on amp w/ headphones).
- Neck is comfortable. Frets were also decent.

Huh? That's a more than $100 dollar difference. What am I missing?

Is this guitar for an old man? It looks like it is made from early 20th century.

Perhaps. This old man (I'm 71) finds the aesthetics of this guitar very pleasing and is fighting the urge to buy one even though he has 14 guitars and doesn't play all that much. But I don't have a full hollow body electric (and never owned one.) I played a semi hollow 335 clone in the 60s (made by Cuisinart IIRC) and currently have an Epi 335. I think I just talked myself into one.

Do you play in a band or just play guitar for your own enjoyment? Life would be too boring without the sound of 7 notes echo in our ears everyday.

Never really heard him, but the feedback discussed here would be acoustical to the soundboard, like a mic howl, very unmusical and independent of notes fretted.

Musical feedback is only on electrics and only through the strings/amp/air, where the note fundamental and harmonics feedback and sustain.

The Humbucking pickup wasn't invented until the second half of the 20th century, so it couldn't have been an early 20th century guitar. The Hollow Body Electric is a very commonly used instrument in Progressive Rock and sound great even with high gain amplifiers. In any event, the piano was invented in 1720s but is still the most important instrument as it is used in all kinds of music, including EDM (even it if its as a digital sample.)

The band days are long over. I affix little faces to the headstocks of my guitars and play for them. The crowd is getting too large for the venue, and rumor has it there's another patron arriving later this week.

Go buy a nice shredder if you don't like it. This is Ibanez's knock off of a Gibson Super 400, one of the top, commercial, major makers', jazz style guitars. You can't get close to the original for $5000. Most are over $10,000. This a deal for anyone with a jazz, or bossa, streak. Won't be the same, but at $230, who cares. Got the money, get a Bendetto, hand built for you.

If Adorama is selling it at over $100 dollars less than Guitar Center, how is that not a deal?
That person's "I'm not sure what you're asking" sounded like a BOT response LMAO

I usually associate Ibanez with really ugly metal guitars but this one is cool so I ordered it. It will go well with my collection of Fender, Rickenbacker, Maton, Gretsch.

I'm kinda glad that I don't play guitar. I already bought a Slickdeal bass that I didn't need. lol
I surely would have grabbed one of these.
I have 3 Ibanez basses now and I'm very happy with all of them.
I sent the link to a guitar-playing friend though. Thanks OP.
No more though! lol

Not sure if I should get this one or the Fender FA-235E concert accoustic electric guitar?
