Gamestop is running a promo right now where you can trade in your used joycons and receive $29.90 per joycon in GS Trade Credit.
The breakdown is below:
Joycon - $23
Promo Bonus - $4.60
PowerUp Card - $2.30
If you have a beat up pair and want to get a new pair, it wouldn't be a bad idea to trade in and for about $25 get a brand new pair.
On a separate note, I also got ~$190 for a used Xbox Series S since I purchased a new one from Verizon Wireless a few weeks back.

but if i'm trading in a pair, they would need it for both joy cons.
your best option is to trade in one at different locations, if you don't have the straps.
I did the exact same thing. I told the sales rep I should get $192.50 and he laughed and said that's ungodly high.....
then 60 seconds later he was ringing up my trade in for $192.50.
