My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

You can also get the flex streaming box for free
I pass on this and the free router solely so I don't have to worry about returning equipment 2 years from now. I'd rather go to the dmv

I'm seeing this as an option as an existing customer as well. So might not need to do the whole cancel and sign up new thing. I'm at $45 for 400mbps right now. Wondering if I ever even use 400 and 200 would be fine.

Pretty good deal. It was under my gf's name and I set it up under my name. $25.53 a month total for 200mbps, prices good for 2 years. We are currently paying $73 a month for 400mbps.
Do you use their mobile plan? I'm wondering how you keep the numbers when switching happens?

I thought this was a great deal until I logged into my account and saw that I'm getting 400 mbps for $29/mo.

Is this still asynchronous? 200Mb down but 5-20Mb upload?

How did you see it as existing customer?

Can I add this later for the same additional $10/month? I just want to see how much I'll use and then decide if I want to switch or not. I have the modem already.

Do people not value their time? 200 mbs is too slow when almost everyone has gigbit internet right now
What can you do with gigabit that you can't do with 200mbps?

Was going to sign my wife up and get this, but then realized we have Xfinity Mobile, and I'm sure that having our internet cancelled under my account would screw that up. Anyone know if I can just move it all under her account or is it going to kill our phone plans if I do this?

Xfinity Mobile sucks. I'm sorry you are trapped until your phones are paid off

It's fine. Better than most other post paid plans we've had for the price. Phones are paid off so that's not an issue.

Lots of websites require gigbit internet to get a decent experience. If it ever takes more than 1 second for a page to load, your internet is too slow.
My websites take 1.2 seconds to load. Should I download more RAM?
