My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

Are you willing to lock your internet speed at 200mb for 2 years? A lot can change in two years. There was a time when people thought a T1 connection (1.54 Mbps) was enough speed to last them forever...
Lol there's no contract. You guys are hilarious.

Will Xfinity raise your speed at any point or will it always be 200mb?
I had 25mbps a year ago, they upped it to 50, then a few months later to 75. Had to power cycle my router to access new speeds. Now I power cycle my router regularly.

Yes sign up under someone else's name. They'll activate it and cancel the old service. Very very easy.

When you search your address on Xfinity it will say there's already service at this address. Click I'm moving here as a new customer.
I actually chatted with them and said I can just cancel and resign up and they did it for me

sometime down the line u can prob expect comcast to either give you a free speed upgrade to a new tier, which they can later justify in charging a higher MSRP. at the same time the 200mb package will be eliminated completely so you can't ask to stay on the same plan. they did this just not long ago for me being at the old 100mb plan. i got a "free" upgrade to double my speed to 200mb. it's a pretty typical strategy for subscription companies to do this to get more $.

I pass on this and the free router solely so I don't have to worry about returning equipment 2 years from now. I'd rather go to the dmv

As in getting a new account # and online login? Or calling to switch the name on the service all while not cancelling it? I'm interested in hearing more as I am getting fed up of calling DTV every 6 months for discounts. Also they keep raising the prices.
Quote from DealMaster008 :
Wouldn't that require a new modem ?
We do the same thing as above. Rotate husband and wife. We use the same modem. Once you are off for a little while, you're considered a new customer again. It's really simple. Just go in person and they'll switch it.

What's the difference between 200mbps and 1000mbps for the average consumer, besides the obvious. Torrenting?
I'd consider myself an above average user, with multiple iptv streams, multiple kids who stream and game, and 75mbps was plenty for my entire household.
Big difference. w/ Fiber you're not sharing with other people. Hands down, Sonic is best value internet out there. Also uncapped.

If you sign up as new customer it will auto cancel for you. I get a prorated etf every March after 11.5 months and it's like 8-10 bucks.
