My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

I'm seeing this as an option as an existing customer as well. So might not need to do the whole cancel and sign up new thing. I'm at $45 for 400mbps right now. Wondering if I ever even use 400 and 200 would be fine.
Did you try it? I'm an existing customer a few months into a 2 year contract for 200mb at $40/month so I'd love to get it lowered to $25. Let me know if it worked for you.

I pass on this and the free router solely so I don't have to worry about returning equipment 2 years from now. I'd rather go to the dmv
It's super easy. You just drop it off at a UPS store and they take care of the rest. Just be sure to keep your receipt.

Any way to avoid paying early termination fees ? I read you can convert your plan to "everyday pricing" to get off contract, then cancel the next day.

What is the best way to so this if you live alone? Sign up for a new account with a different first name?, They wont look into this when your autopay bank account is the same name as you prev xfinity account name?

Does anyone else use more than 1.2 TB? I regularly do over the monthly limit but Xfinity says that in the minority that do. I figured with 4K and all the devices in the house this is the norm now.
I used 3x the 1.2tb cap bc I stream TV via YouTubeTV and also work from home. Definitely need the unlimited data package

I'm a current customer and when I go into the plans section, I can see this $25 plan available to switch to. Has anybody actually done this and can we switch to it as an existing customer?

Also, do we have to use their equipment? Since they aren't giving unlimited data with their equipment on this plan, is it necessary to switch to their gateway?

I recall in the Good 'Ol Days (No, I'm not a Boomer)
I could call customer service and cut a deal. Get a discount by prepaying the entire amount.
eg... $25 x $24 = $600. They would knock off $50~$100 or give me a few complimentary extra months .
Nowadays, they have no idea of the concept !!

My internet is at least 1TB, but I can get more TB's if I wanted to.

Also getting this as an existing customer. Go to change plan, says +$5 for the 200mbps from my $20.

Free xfi gateway but I'm not even sure if that is worthwhile if you have your own modem and router. Is it any good?

The hilarious part is that you guys are reducing your internet speed even though internet is a big part of your life....just to save a few bucks
Many of us are also willingly reducing the number of potential partners and we're better off for that. No, it is not limited to SDers.

Competitive gaming. Where upload and download speeds are necessary.
Latency and jitter is what's important for gaming. The pipe size is not the most critical piece.

Update: Because I see this deal has reached FP, I noticed the FP bulletpoint stated this offer was for unlimited data. This is not entirely accurate for all situations at the current price point. I've notified a moderator to see if they can get that fixed. But for now, I'll update my post about this.
Note that you must use the Comcast supplied hardware to use xfi complete. For many people that might not matter, but it was a deal breaker for me. The alternative is $30 extra a month for unlimited (further proving that unlimited data is simply a ploy for them to make more money and not a true limitation of the infrastructure, but I digress).

Can I use this included equipment as just the modem and keep using my Orbi router with 2 additional satellites to cover the whole house and property?
