My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

This is tempting... my ATT Fiber has crept from $35/mo up to $65/mo over the last three years ($45 after 1 year, $55 after 2 years with upgrade to 500mpbs, $65 after 3 years with upgrade to 1gb) with the only renewal deals available being faster speeds at the same price.

Does anyone know if Bay Area (San Jose) has the upgraded upload speeds (100mbps)?

I'm an existing Xfinity subscriber. I cancelled my service and applied a new service on my family membername. Xfinity retention team called and said they can offer this plan to me and they did. I no need to have a new account.

Just fyi.

I signed up for xFi Complete and received an old XB3
Same, and I am in Illinois, and they sent a very old used XB3. Which is an Arris TG1682G.

I specifically got the $10 more than unlimited for better uploads cuz I have TMHI already but since it's good to have and price was good..thot I'd take advantage.

now I am tempted to try buying a used XB 6 7 or 8 off ebay just to see if my speeds (upload) are better than the default crappy 10Mbps.

download speeds are good 220 ish. however idk why the Asus Ac68U I have behind the XB3 only gets 100 Mbps..tho.. the same when being used with TMhi gets good speeds 200 300+ so IDk. If this gateway is shit.

This would be great if it also offered more than 10 mbps upload speed, didn't require modem resets periodically, and didn't automatically sign you up for a new 2-year term contract at the end. Speaking from experience, I don't take them at their word that this is a service you can end penalty-free at any time.

Currently, in most regions, XB3 is the default modem they send out for speed tiers that are 300Mbps or lower. If they send you the XB3, it also means that you aren't getting the upgraded upload speeds.

In "SOME" regions (mostly some parts of North East US where mid-split upgrades have been rolled out), XB6 is the default modem for anything faster than 100Mbps, and you do get the upgraded upload speeds.

One way to make an "educated guess" as to whether your area has the mid-split upgrade (and thus faster upload) is to check if the "GIGABIT x2" plan is available for your address.

If the fastest Internet plan for your address is only the "GIGABIT extra," then it's likely that your area doesn't have faster upload speeds yet.
how to check which modem they send? my new plan they shipped already.

how to check it is XB3 or a newer one?

xB 7 8 are latest. You won't get that unless you order the higher packages like 800 1200 Mbps down.

Or, maybe you can question the odds that 600+ comments are all wrong and that you are the only one who got it right? I can tell you that it is indeed $25/mo. Xfinity mobile is not required. Just go through the sign up process, and you'll be able to confirm that. My billing statement also shows $25. You only need $10 discount from auto pay via bank account to keep it at $25.
I just came here to say the same thing. It is 25 a month for 2 years, no mobile needed. 2 fools outta 600 ain't bad,

I just signed up for this even though my 1 year at 75mbps wasn't up until the end of March.
Ordered Friday, auto cancel of my current account Sunday, installed in 5 minutes Sunday afternoon.
I alternate years with my and my wife's name and use my own hardware.
$25 with no tax for 2 more years. Solid.
How did you handle the Mobile Account transfer if you had one linked to your old account?

If I were to switch names, should I cancel first?? I don't want to lose internet service..
I've not found a way to do it without interrupting service. However, if they cancel you properly and deprovision the equipment, you can turn around and reactivate within an hour or two. Just pick a day that you don't need service 100% of the time. I own my equipment so I'm not sure how this would work if you get theirs.
