My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

Frankly I don't know what that person was talking about. I think they misunderstood the original question. It doesn't make sense to me.
You can add and save your credit card as another payment method in your online profile,. then just submit an early payment with that credit card before the payment due date. Using this method can avoid comcast to direct debit your bank account but you can get $10 autopay discount with bank account setup. Currently Amex has an offer of getting $5 credit back if using the card to pay at least $50 for Internet service up to 4 times.

My Xfinity internet service was 400mpbs at $39.99 for 12month. I was at the last month of the promised rate, and the monthly bill was going to change to $99.99. I was looking for the way to reduce the future payment.

Thanks to the Slickdeals comments, I could set up the current 200mpbs at $25 for 24months, without term contract.
<btw, I could actually choose to renew the contract by having 12month term, 400mbps at $30/mo for 24 months as existing customer.>
I choose the get the current deal because I want to be ready to get any better deal at any time. (I am also a non-resident of USA but temporal with J visa; I don't know when I will leave!)

Here is what I did;
1) visit xfinity website using incognito mode (chrome), and find the prices by using the current address. (I chose as I am a new customer moving to this address)
2) choose 200mpbs deal and customize (flex device, xFi etc; my place said xFi complete for 20/mo so I just skipped it)
3) use the same name, phone, email. The system will say they found a matching account. I chose to link. They asked my BOD to verify the ID. Then I chose one of the registered payment option.
4) the order was placed, and I received several emails from Xfinity;
- Your Xfinity accounts are now linked (I see new account number after login with my comcast id)
- We received your cancellation request (service disconnected: internet and TV, as I received a flex device for free - I will return it)
- Thanks for choosing Xfinity
- Thanks, here is your Xfinity order confirmation (200 mbps one)
5) I am waiting for the old service to be stopped, then I will chat on xfinity app to reset my modem/router. (I have my own one, as xfinity did not offer a free rental previously)
6) I will bring the Flex device to one of the Xfinity shop for return. I am going to take a video of it, just for the case that they say the device is not returned

btw I am not sure if slickdeal rebate can work in incognito mode lol
I followed the steps you described, I got the your Xfinity accounts are now linked email but I did not get any additional emails yet.

Probably the order was not placed successfully. The linking notification came first, 4minutes later 2 emails (thanks for choosing... / cancellation request). Order confirmation email after another 7 minutes later.

I did a 2 year agreement on 10/4/21 with a $230 early termination fee.

"The fee starts at $230.00 beginning the month after the 30-day cancellation period and decreases by $10.00 in each subsequent month."

So all I need to do is sign up for this promo under my wife's name as a new customer moving to this address and my old plan will be cancelled? And I'll have to pay ~$70 termination fee on my existing account?

For those of you that did the incognito trick and added the new account onto the same address as your old account, how has it been going? I got several emails regarding the new order confirmation as well as the service cancellation request. I called Xfinity retention department to see if they can expedite the cancellation of my previous service and they were confused that I had two accounts on the same address and were not helpful at all. I ended up going to the Xfinity store and returned my one rental TV box and the staff there seemed helpful overall and said that my old account should be disabled within 24 to 48 hours and the new account will become active after that. I'm still waiting so time will tell but I hope this all works!

Yes, just go into your account payment settings and add your bank account as a payment method and set it to the default.
I did but payment still remains $30. Not sure why its did fix it?

Depends on 4K content you're streaming and online gaming if you are into. I get close to limit if I were to download/update Xbox content during the same month but never alone just by streaming.

Perhaps that was the case, I tried second time and it seemed like it worked. I received order confirmation and cancellation emails along with the verification code text message.

I decided to order the unlimited so I can see couple months use and then if not needed drop the $10 extra. Assuming that is a possibility. No guarantee.

Thx. I was able to replicate your instructions and got the $25/mo. Works out well as I was paying $50/mo for 75 mbps

Got the gateway, it's huge and looks like it's something out of the 80's. Still don't have service connected so can't confirm if the xFi complete will get me upload speed upgrade (the only reason I'd pay the extra $10/mo.)

How is their cellular service? I'm currently using Visible but they don't have roaming. If Xfinity has roaming I think I'd switch.

Also, I presently have WOW as my ISP and even though I've been with them 5 years they wouldn't match this deal.

TD for poor merchant rep. I mean if xfinity is your only choice it's definitely a good deal compared to their other crap but would never give a thumbs up to this trash company.

I had good luck with xfinity wireless. It was indistinguishable from VZW in my usage. Just note you must have active home service with them to use it. I had to get a new wireless provider when I switched to fiber and cancelled xfinity.
