My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

If you got fiber in your neighborhood go with that. I just dumped Xfinity for att fiber. 500/500 With like $400 in gift cards. 65 a month unlimited!
Can you please let me know what promotional codes you applied to get $400 gift cards ? I'm sick of xfinity and want to switch to Att as well. Thank you so much

No $200 Visa ever came with it
It's still showing!!! But it it is region/address specific (mainly NE of the country) and parts of TX that are overlayed with ATT Fiber. In Chicago limits you can also find it if it's overlayed with RCN or ATT Fiber, but again it's address/region specific sadly.

If you go back in the comments, there were a couple folks who had posted screen shots...that were through comments we figured out which parts of the country were targeted for the extra prepaid card.

Pretty much. But for me since I used the same name and e-mail address, it's still a mess logging in. They credited the remaining days I had left on the original account. Go ahead and activate the new equipment and it'll go from there.
I used same name and email too! Thanks I'll go ahead and activate now

I created a new account under my roommates name and signed up for the offer.
But I didn't know the current internet will be canceled tonight at midnight.
Can I use my current Xfinity modem/router until the new one comes (3-5 business days) with the new service?
I feel like I messed this up because we really need internet for the next 3-5 days.

If you're getting their modem then you'll get a 2nd cancellation email pushing the end date out to 2 weeks once they ship the new device -- your old service will keep working

I ordered Mon afternoon and got 1st cancel email showing midnight but service still works -- got 2nd cancel email (showing April 4th) + device shipment email on Tues

Oh that's good news!
My next cycle starts on the 26th.
Say, my new modem comes afterwards and I'm like x days into the cycle, will they refund back the prorated amount that I haven't used?
Or am I lost the entire bill?

I signed up and cancelled already. Wasted a bunch of time on this. After getting xFi complete I wasn't getting the upload speeds promised. Xfinity support online was no help so tried reddit. After some back and forth it turns out my neighborhood is not supported so I asked them to remove xFi complete and they said I would have to then pay an extra $15 for the equipment. I could have tried to cancel and redo order but this was not worth it as I am getting 1Gbps up and down for $65 with Centurylink Fiber with no data cap. Comcast latency is much higher as well compared to Fiber. After this experience I wouldn't even switch if CTL raised prices by $10.

Bro when you removed the Xfi add on for $10 , you could have used your own cable modem or ebay Amazon have Docis 3.0 for 15 20$ no need to rent. The 25$ is not bad for 200 Mbps no contract.

Obviously fiber to home is better bit not everyone has this option.

Personally i would love to have att or Verizon fiber but no option yet..so we get what we can.

How many days or weeks is the downtime when you swap names & accounts? Trying to figure out how long I'll be without internet since the kids have school.

I'm in on the $35 uncapped. Cancelled the triple play in my wife's name that had crept up to $230/mo, including HBO and modem rental. Will add on YouTube TV and save more than 50%. I'm embarrassed it took me so long.
