The listing name and images contain MF264DW II, while the product section says MF262DW II. I realized it after ordering one, let's see what actually shows up.

What's the difference between two. I tried to search online without much success.

The other day I was looking for a decent but affordable laser printer to replace my in-laws 10 year old multifunction printer that finally gave out. They want to be able to make copies every now and then and print stuff in black and white. It also needs to be networkable and support AirPrint. I found the canon 262 and 264 both for 150 at Amazon. Difference appeared to be the auto document feeder for the scanner. I ended up ordering the 264 and it arrived today. Haven't set it up yet though but we've been happy for 5ish years with a similar one that has color.
about $60 more and get a FULL COLOR laser , why this mono??
It's all on cost. The replacement toner (off-brand) is nice and cheap for a high yield cart. This fits the bill for what I need perfectly. If I find I need color at any time in the future, I'll get a cheap inkjet or more likely just go get the prints done elsewhere.
The fact this one comes with a full spec standard cart is another nice bonus. Starter cartridges can be so irritating when you learn how little use they are and how much the replacement full carts are.

I'm actually looking for an all in one color laser printer with ADF and duplex would be a plus but not finding much less than $400
Any links to one with full color and ADF? Thanks
