I have had 8 Seagate 16TB exos drives in my Synology nas for over 2 years with no issues. I have had 2 8TB WD Reds previously fail on me. I also had a cheapo Seagate fail on me many moons ago. If you ask around enough you will find people who have had bad experience (and good experiences) with both brands.

Yeah I was going to ask.. I've had really bad experiences with Seagate in the past. Multiple disk failures and such. It's the primary reason I switched to WD for everything. Have they improved at all?

Ugh. I just bought 3 16 tb drives WD Red Pro. Are these better? Should I return them?

Any projected price targets for the next 6 months/year that 20TB drives might hit on deals here?

Nice to start seeing so many discounts recently since they have been gone in any meaningful way for so long...

i would unless you want a 5 year warranty vs 2

I would only be investing in 18TB+now

One could correlate with The amount of seagate Exos recerts available for this same seller compared to WD. I could be wrong, I've Exos both new and recerts also have few new WD gold and time will tell.
