NASCAR games haven't exactly been wonderful on XBOX or PS for a while now. The only defense I have is that if I were a *relatively* small developer like they are, I wouldn't invest a ton of energy into optimizing a niche game on a console that Nintendo can't be bothered to make reasonably powerful to begin with.

Actually in 2003 Papyrus made an excellent Nascar Racing Season Sim called Nascar Racing 2003 Season it was great both in graphics and more importantly game play subsequently EA bought the rights and it's gone downhill since.
