But yeah I get the humor in the whole situation.
It seems the JRPG force is strong with this one and the Microsoft Studios (and related) stuff hasn't been working well for them the past few years.

A cash grab imo is a simple resolution bump (like what you would see of the previous two generations of remasters, the ps360 generation making everything old into "HD").
A decent job imo is that bare minimum previously mentioned plus fixing some bugs or balance issues and maybe slapping in some quality of life fixes and maybe an extra skin or two.
A good job imo is a graphical overhaul like you see with your dead spaces, demons souls, shadow of the colossus's, metroid prime remastered, the last of us part 1 etc. This is where ff7 crisis core falls imo based on what I've seen of it.
An exceptional job imo is what you see with your re4 remakes and ff7 remakes. I can only think of those two at the moment.
If your bare minimum standards are that a remake has to at least be on the level of a triple a budget/studios main release, then your standards are a bit high, in my opinion. Of course you are entitled to your opinion, and I respect it, certainly more so than those opinions I read that regularly defend price increases on games that are by most accounts worse than their predecessors, in addition to all the other excessive greedy money gouging practices that are incorporated into those same games, trying to justify price increases even on top of all that stuff, and even when profits have never been higher.
