Doing a change on the existing flight doesn't allow you to use the promo code so cancelled and rebooked flight and saved 6348 points a person x 3

I have a trip I've been wanting to make in May and the prices/points are the same as they were before..just now 20% less with this promo code.

San Diego trip was 7700 before promotion. Yesterday I saw it for 7000 RR. Today with discount it went back to 7700 RR. Promotion was applicable but no use.
