Any owners of this bike want to talk about the quality? Cause this seems like a decent deal.

The Amazon reviews seem decent, with a huge flaw to me, doesn't handle hills well.

Also there is no throttle.

I think the childhood obesity has more to do with the processed foods, sugars and excessive amount of seed oils we see in mainstream food products. Low quality and lack of education around nutrition contributes the most to childhood and adulthood obesity. Endless media consumption doesn't help either. With that being said, both my boys ride their manual bikes as much as their electric ride on toys and stay very active outside playing with both equally. There's no issue with weight control because they have a proper diet and stay active (calorie deficit)

Man I remember being excited for ebikes but now that I see people riding them everywhere I wonder if they were a good idea. As a commuting option where you have hills and don't want to get to work sweaty they make perfect sense but I see people just casually cruising around flat neighborhoods on the weekends and it's like man, was burning a couple extra calories pedaling really that inconvenient? It's especially saddening to see the kids in my neighborhood cruising around on these with childhood obesity being such an issue today.

This is a great deal for somebody who just wants to cruise at ease of a button. Spring is approaching so I can see the prices climbing by then

Diet has a lot to do with it but when it comes to children, you can exercise your way out of it. I grew up eating sugary cereals and regular sodas but I never stopped moving, biking miles and miles with my friends all weekend and playing sports after school during the week. It's not ideal for kids to eat what I did but when my wife told me about how strict her parents were with food, I was grateful I got to experience all the fun junk foods as a kid while being active enough to avoid major negative effects. I just hope kids aren't replacing the little outside exercise they do get with battery power.

It's definitely a lack of exercise. People these days just don't move.

It really isn't though. You can ride a bike hard for an hour and burn ~600 calories. Which is like 8 oreos.

There is a saying "you can't outrun your diet."

Moving around is good for you, but it isn't going to help if you eat trash.

They do move more nowadays, but just their mouth and hands via the mouse, keyboard and headset 😉😉

You can't diet your way to health.
Only a smaller number on the scale.
Moving around will ALWAYS make you healthier.

And if you go spouting "First law of thermodynamics" so help me.....

Absolutely, but make sure the runaway truck ramp is opened.
