Some of the reviews at Costco are concerning, so buying this refurb from Woot is going to be a bit of a lottery since this is not a manufacturer refurbished product.
If you're comfortable with computers it's very easy to do. The display is gorgeous and the anti-reflective coating is a big improvement over earlier years.

"Display is very dark
Cheap"
4k is less important to me than the best picture quality for video content, and I'd actually prefer 16x9 over this 16x10.
Anyone have any ideas?

a couple notes:
-lg isn't great about access to their driver management software, and it differs from Costco variant to regular, so don't reformat without backing up lg control center and other lg apps from the oem drive
-this model doesn't have upgradeable ram
-if it's the same as last year's model, there are two m.2 slots
no idea why some people think minor body flex impacts one's experience using a laptop but I use it on my lap and on the go all the time with 0 issues (too much flex can cause things like the TouchPad to click, that's not the case for the lg gram)
I think some people are negatively impacted by a rumor that macbooks are *higher quality* because theyre so much heavier and don't bend at all. this is mil spec 810g. I've dropped it on concrete before with 0 damage. get over your superficial concern about body flex. it is irrelevant

For a while we have been conditioned to think that heavy means premium and high quality, especially on the smartphone world where reviewers are obsessed with heaviness which led to phones backs being made out of stupid fragile glass. Even the iPhone Pro models are made with a stainless steel frame instead of aluminum for no other reason than to add weight. Personally I can't even use the iPhone Pro models because the weight cramps my hand with extended use.
I'm glad that LG decided to buck the trend and just make the gram thinner and lighter. This is the lightest 17" laptop by a very wide margin and if you're looking for portable big screen productivity for office, school, or coding there's basically nothing that even comes close. This has the same weight as most other manufacturers 13" or 14" laptops.
I literally just bought the 16 GB from Costco but now I think I'm going to return it and get the 32 GB.
Been using the Lg gram from Costco for the past 3 years. 17inch screen, full keyboard, and less than 3lbs. Quality isn't bad, and I travel with my laptop a lot. An ultra portable at this price point, Sign me up all day.
I bought one from BuyDig the 17" refurb and it arrived used, not refurb...

I'm not sure if people are confusing this with the previous LG Gram generation that had issues but I have not experienced any overheating, noise, or structural issues at all.
Really wish Sony still made laptops but HP is junk, Would only buy Samsung, LG, Asus, or Dell personally.
