It's not a core m processor, it's an ARM processor.

Also, this has been on the front page since the 21st of February. It looks like even the staff reposts.

And why would you possibly believe that people need to use apple crap?

Yah...

This is not even remotely a good deal at $400. Keyboard and pen "sold separately". A 2.5 year old tablet for $550 that only seems like a good deal compared to when it was insanely priced at $1500.

OP, you should drop the first pic showing the keyboard and pen…it makes it look like those items are included, but they are not.

I picked up an 'ebay refurbished' Surface Pro 7+ (w/LTE) for $607 a few weeks ago. i5-1135G7, 16GB Ram, 256GB SSD. It's an older style, but Intel and LTE. Oh, and it came with a keyboard. All of it looks brand new and it runs great.

There's some decent prices out there, if the bezels don't bother you. It's my new travel computer.

As someone who was gifted a Windows on ARM laptop years ago (one of the original Surfaces) because they bought it not realizing it didn't run "real" Windows, I will never go through that experience again. Not sure if it has improved since then, but essentially with an ARM processor it was a stunning beautiful laptop hardware wise that literally ran nothing useful on it. It was a tragedy. Couldn't even unlock the bootloader and run Linux or anything. Basically a brick.

That is a shame to me. IF you could unlock the bootloader this would be a pretty slick Linux "tablet" sorta.

Hard disagree. Sure, very expensive at $1500 but at $550 even at 2.5 years old, you'd be surprised at how much you can accomplish with this "little" thing. Solid build quality, awesome portability and not to mention Windows ARM has come a long way since then. Don't expect this to be some sort of portable gaming laptop. Photoshop even works awesome on this thing.

It's not even remotely the same. Windows RT/Surface RT are dead ends. These newer devices run Windows ARM and can run x86 and x64 apps on them via emulation for anything that isn't available as ARM native. So thanks for sharing your irrelevant experience with a completely different device.

Ugh I really want this... long battery life, awesome screen, light and thin. But I don't need it and I don't think I'd use it enough to justify $550...

Bought this so I can play Runescape3 on the go. Tried several ways to get around it, but couldn't.

Anyway, the tablet was well built and was really good for watching YouTube or if you're only using MS applications.

I returned it and ended up purchasing the pro 9 i5. It replaced my laptops and other tablets. I love it so much!

Big question, how does sq3 compare? I know it's not "worth it", but any advantage other than a bit faster, maybe?

Here you go https://www.windowscentral.com/ha...he-upgrade. SQ3 is a lot faster, not just a bit faster.

Link to a post in the original thread on this where I address some of the complaints about the SPX : https://slickdeals.net/f/16465786-microsoft-surface-pro-x-tablet-13-2880x1920-sq2-cpu-16gb-ram-256gb-ssd-559-free-shipping?p=161877535#post161877535.

I don't care if you buy it or not but there's a lot of outdated, incorrect, or misunderstood information on these. The SPX was a bit of an experiment and had some rough edges at first, mostly around x86 and x64 emulation, or lack thereof. Almost all of those issues have been resolved now, to the point that the SPX has been merged into the mainline Surface Pro 9 family.

This is a great and sleek device. It's sexy. I don't care what others say. I used mine for drafting documents and traveling and I loved how portable it was. However, support for this device is ending soon. That would be the only reason I would hesitate buying one if I didn't own one.

I can't believe Microsoft put this Surface out there with this processor.
Glad I replaced my 3 with a 7+

You're comparing two entirely different things. The Surface RT was a barely functional ARM-based laptop running incredibly weak specs with even worse software. The SQ1 and 2 run Windows 11, can run some x86 software and are reasonably fast with low heat and power usage. Two completely different things. It would be like comparing the original iPhone without the App Store to an iPhone 10 or 11.
