It's not a core m processor, it's an ARM processor.

Also, this has been on the front page since the 21st of February. It looks like even the staff reposts.
And why would you possibly believe that people need to use apple crap?
Yah...

This is not even remotely a good deal at $400. Keyboard and pen "sold separately". A 2.5 year old tablet for $550 that only seems like a good deal compared to when it was insanely priced at $1500.

Nice devices. Clean hardware. You can buy third party magnetic KB and nice for 40 on Amazon. It won't run everything since it is ARM, but it runs plenty for lots of business and casual usage scenarios.

It doesn't look like it. I had the black version and just couldn't keep it, it looks like shit almost instantly.

This has one of if not the best web cam on the market, full desktop browser and best lightweight form factor. This is what I grab when I leave the house over my M1 Macbook Air (heavy with crappy webcam and non-versatile old clamshell design) or M1 iPad Pro (toy with crappy webcam and limited mobile browser). The only thing that can make the Surface Pro X better is 4nm AMD APU. At this price it's a steal over the other devices.

Hard disagree. Sure, very expensive at $1500 but at $550 even at 2.5 years old, you'd be surprised at how much you can accomplish with this "little" thing. Solid build quality, awesome portability and not to mention Windows ARM has come a long way since then. Don't expect this to be some sort of portable gaming laptop. Photoshop even works awesome on this thing.

But with the surface 8 and 9 the form factor is very similar to this ARM version and it runs full windows. Why bother with this thing?

surface pro x is still thinner/lighter and also comes with LTE. Having owned the much heavier surface book, weight and connectivity were on top of my list, thats why i bother.

Surface Pro 8 or 9 with 16GB ram won't go this low...

Have been using SPX for several years. Definitely fine for day to day programs. Microsoft edge is very polished and fast. can't speak of other games but SQ2 SPX can run company of heroes 1 just fine.

Do be aware that ARM windows can't run some VPN still...

Because there's enough stuff on here to sift through now, why make it worse because people are too lazy to search before they make a post.

I picked up one of these, and w/out Windows 11 there's not a whole lot you can do w/ it, and it feels like a limited tablet. Once you upgrade to Windows 11 it runs closer to a regular PC. Upgrading to Windows 11 wasn't as easy as you'd expect since the app to verify you can run Windows 11 doesn't run on it out of the box. I found if you turn on Windows Insider builds you get the option to upgrade to Windows 11 being in the Beta group. There might be a way installing a ISO to USB but I wasn't familiar enough w/ what build would be best for the Surface Pro X. The build I found for ARM devices required Vram to be enabled which I didn't see on this device.

Overall the device on its own is pretty good. You can run a couple games on decent settings (I was running Disco Elysium w/ some slight stuttering), and should be find for all your word processing, media, and web browsing. Not sure about photo, or video editing yet. It's got a great battery life (I get about 8 hours of heavy use w/ high screen brightness) which is better than any device I've used before. The touch screen seems to occasionally miss my input using my fingers which isn't a deal killer for me since I'm using this more like an ultra light laptop than a tablet. The speakers suck, and might be improved by better EQ adjustments, but you can just use Bluetooth to connect headphones or a better speaker. The screen looks really good... not as good as my OLED devices, but better than the rest of my other devices. The camera looks better than most laptops I've used which should be great for meetings. The device also feels like it's built well, and not some plastic POS that's gonna break outside of the warranty.

Reviews say battery is bad on SPX...and the M1 chip runs circles around the SQ1/2. Wish this had 120hz like SP8.

Just to add, SPX's also have significantly better batter performance than the 8's or the 9's simply because the SQ2's don't hog as much battery as the Intel series do (which are meant for full performance). SQ2s aren't bad for mobility, LTE, and battery life. This is a perfect secondary device to a desktop for on the go use, or use as a light to moderate tablet/laptop for folks who already have a more powerful desktop/laptop.
