The most telling thing I found was a comment in a Timberland sunglasses thread (EyeDictive sale here on SD) and someone said they contacted Timberland directly about the authenticity of EyeDictive's inventory and Timberland said it's not genuine and they are currently pursuing legal action against them.
EyeDictive is clearly a huge supporter of Slickdeals, a Staff member posted this deal after all and it has Cashback with Slickdeals own cashback program. But don't let that make you think the product is genuine. The "business" certainly is.
Funny thing is, on older EyeDictive threads, ED actually had an employee account that would answer product questions here on SD but was always silent on authenticity questions. You'd think if these weren't fake they would have easily replied to those comments. The FAQ on their website says :
Are your frames authentic?
All of the frames we carry are 100% Authentic and Brand New! We feature high-end brand-name frames, as well as one of a kind boutique models.
Here's the conclusion: The site has a lot of customers happy with what they got. When another commentor says they know their product is genuine because it came with tags/box/warranty cards, I kind of laugh because all good fakes have that stuff. Not just in sunglasses but replica jerseys, shoes, etc. But the customer is happy and they've done a good enough job to convince people they are real. Maybe they are, maybe they aren't.
A quick search for incorporation info (someone please share if they find something else) yields suspicious results:
So you have an address here that is basically a condo on the water. And the name listed as the agent doesn't really yield anything related to EyeDictive on Google.
"Menachem Brod" is listed as the "CEO" of 2 different companies.
Honestly figuring out whether this is some Chinese company selling fakes via a good relationship with SD or if this is an actual legit reseller of overstock genuine inventory is one of my favorite SD pastimes.
EDIT: Notice how even though my comment has the green banner saying it was useful, they didn't put it under a "featured comments" banner towards the top of the post.
DOUBLE EDIT: Ok a week later it's included.
Buy and presume it is fake and you won't be disappointed.
I've purchased somewhere between 10 and 15 pairs of sunglasses, various well known brands, over the years from Eyedictive. I have no affiliation with them. Just a regular Slickdealer and cheapskate. Each and every pair came in original case, box, packaging, with warranty cards and/or manufacturer paperwork, wrappers, etc.
I can say with confidence that each pair is genuine and not fake or replica.
I've saved hundreds if not thousands of dollars off of MSRP with this vendor.

This is the same type of back and forth that happens over discount fragrance shops.
Sunglasses and Fragrances are the most marked up items in fashion. They cost pennies on the dollar to make.
People have a tough time justifying their purchases. So anytime someone even hums the word "fake" they cling to it like its the gospel.
The truth is out of hundreds of comments and dozens of these posts, nobody can offer any legitimate proof that these are fakes.
There are 10,000 stories on Slickdeals about someone having a conversation with a rep and they said "x y z". If that's your most damning piece of evidence, then you basically have nothing.

Eyedictive does not sell fakes. I've bought over 6-8 pairs from them, and as someone who collects sunglasses and purchase from regular retailers like sunglasses hut and the likes, I can spot a fake.
The one gripe about Eyedictive that people don't understand is, they sell authentic sunglasses of "entry level, low tier" from the said manufacturers. So yes, even Hugo Boss, Ray-Ban, Persol, Gucci, Prada makes entry level budget cheap sunglasses at entry level price points. This is what Eyedictive usually sells and focuses on.....the 'entry level low tier' authentic sunglasses from reputable brands.
Could be fake… who knows if the quality is good then who cares? I worked at an optical and most frames came from the same company no matter the brand and they sold to the optical for Pennie's to a dollar.

That's because your fram…e has gaps! 🤣
I agree. I too hate sunglasses that can't take photos. 🙄

The only people talking about Nazis in 2023 are neo-Nazis and Antifa (who are fascists). Don't worry, either way, you will still be a douchebag!
