I thought heatsink is glued and cannot be removed. If not, I would be interested in this deal.
I bought my SN850X without the heatsink because it wouldn't fit in my M2 slot with a heatsink.

One person removed the heatsink on an SN850. https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc...removable/

They would recommend not fussing with it, and either buy the version with or without the heatsink, depending on your needs. Smilie

If you absolutely need this now, buy away. It you can wait, I think 2TB options will be available for close to $100 by the Fall.
I bet Microsoft are pooping their pants from their decision to use dumb expansion memory cards vs NVMe. History would show that proprietary formats never end well...just look at the PS Vita and those expensive memory cards. Of course they could make things right with a base model revision and pro model.

Yes. It's crazy that this is categorized as a PS5 accessory on Walmart's site, they're just creating confusion labeling it that way. It'll work in anything with an m.2 slot, although for PC it depends on the motherboard if it supports PCIe Gen 4 or not.
And to add to that for those newbies unfamiliar with PCs like nsknuds not helpfully answered to eagerfriction6959 - one can also get a cheap $11 PCI NVMe adapter card [amazon.com] as add-on to the PC that don't have NVME slot built-in (like in pre 2017 motherboards).

2 in stock at my store but they scanned as $129 on the employees phone. Would it ring up different when checking out?

Right. I wasn't sure about the heat sink. I already have heatsinks on my MOBO. Can I remove the heatsink in this model?
You already have M.2 heatsinks on your motherboard, but don't have a M.2 drive? What are the heatsinks attached to? I don't think I've seen a motherboard like this.

They even tried dunking on Sony about how easy it is to install their memory cards. But with prices now, a screw driver and a few minutes seems more like a homerun

Did it show the sale price on the product tag or only when you checked out? My local WM had 2 but the employee scanned with his phone and it said regular price

When checked out but u can always just drop it in the check out if u dont get the price indicated here. Got 2. There's more there, they seem to not care or not know the price drop yet. I mean the employees.

Where were they located in the store? I went to my local Walmart that said in-stock on the app but I couldn't find any drives. I checked where they had standard PC drives (they had an NVME Kingston and WD mechanical HDDs)
