No, you cannot. Although there are some online places where people sell adapters to allow you to do so if the form factor of the tool accommodates it.

I use it for cutting up logs and branches that fall on my 1 acre property (pine trees). It goes through good sized logs, I've done up to 10 or 12 inches. It didn't stop or get bound up.
It's been great, though them saying it is gas like power is a little much.
I have no complaints. This is my first chainsaw.
I use DeWalt 18v batteries on my Ryobi tools regularly with an adapter. I haven't found any 40v battery adapters though.
