I'm just trying to help, and I don't know your exact situation, but here is some info that might be helpful:

Its possible to use international eSIM services like Airalo, which I've found to be inexpensive and reliable for international travel.

Depending on your needs, you can use Airalo in the 2nd eSIM slot of your iPhone. Then If you set your iPhone to only use data from that 2nd eSIM, you can get incoming calls on your primary US number, using the data stream from the 2nd eSIM for the call.

This setup will actually be WiFi calling, not airtime calling. On some US phone plans, this won't trigger international call charges.

Again, I don't know your exact situation, but there could be some possibilities for you with this route. Anyhow, I hope this helps someone out there who only has a dual eSIM phone…

Again, just trying to help…

EDIT:
If you want to know exactly how to do this, let me know and I'll post it a bit later once I'm at my computer where I have that exact "how to" info saved…

1 - Turn ON wifi calling on SIM1
2 - Turn OFF data roaming on SIM1
3 - Set SIM1 as your primary voice
4 - Set SIM2 as your primary data source
5 - Disable the cellular switching

Whenever not on wifi, this setup will piggy back off SIM2 cellular connection as WiFi calling. This also works on iPhone 13 Pro Max using physical / eSIMs

Apple Support mentions DUAL SIM usage here:

Scroll down to "Learn about Dual SIM status icons"

I hope this help!

Mint 100% supports eSIM. I've been using a 14 on Mint since release.

i'm reading a review on the costco website - reviewer was not able transfer phone number from existing T mobile/sprint account. Anyone know if this phone not compatible with sprint-T-mobile?

" I was not able to transfer my number to this phone on Sprint-T-Mobile network. Called Tmobile customer service and they said this phone cannot be activated on Sprint -Tmobile."
It says factory unlocked then why you are worried?

There are some citi cards that still offer extended warranty. Citi premier, citi rewards+ to name a few. I converted my citi dividend to citi rewards card for extended warranty.
They're not visas so it doesn't even apply here.

How do you like Mint? Any issues? Heard there were issues where your data usage would prematurely expired (get used up, guessing by background running apps on iPhone?)

Per Apple, Sprint doesn't support eSim. That would definitely be a problem.

Got one, thanks. My Citi card comes with a 2-year extended warranty. Apple may be able to refund the $199 AppleCare in the bundle if you don't need it.
Citi discontinued 2yr extended warranty earlier this year

In Canada iPhone 14 comes with a physical sim but the cost is high given province 13% taxes
If only the tax makes that higher cost, fyi, here in the Bay Area, it's 10.75%, plus tax on the manufacture's discount. Meaning, there is $30 tax extra in this deal, from the $270 discount. If Canada iPhone is easy to purchase, I probably would just buy one, for the physical sim.

I also found carriers like Airalo to be significantly more expensive in many countries. If you are traveling for a week, it may not be a problem. But if you are staying for a month or more, you will pay more. I think the carriers will have to catch up eventually, but for now having a physical sim is beneficial.
