I'm just trying to help, and I don't know your exact situation, but here is some info that might be helpful:

Its possible to use international eSIM services like Airalo, which I've found to be inexpensive and reliable for international travel.

Depending on your needs, you can use Airalo in the 2nd eSIM slot of your iPhone. Then If you set your iPhone to only use data from that 2nd eSIM, you can get incoming calls on your primary US number, using the data stream from the 2nd eSIM for the call.

This setup will actually be WiFi calling, not airtime calling. On some US phone plans, this won't trigger international call charges.

Again, I don't know your exact situation, but there could be some possibilities for you with this route. Anyhow, I hope this helps someone out there who only has a dual eSIM phone…

Again, just trying to help…

EDIT:
If you want to know exactly how to do this, let me know and I'll post it a bit later once I'm at my computer where I have that exact "how to" info saved…

1 - Turn ON wifi calling on SIM1
2 - Turn OFF data roaming on SIM1
3 - Set SIM1 as your primary voice
4 - Set SIM2 as your primary data source
5 - Disable the cellular switching

Whenever not on wifi, this setup will piggy back off SIM2 cellular connection as WiFi calling. This also works on iPhone 13 Pro Max using physical / eSIMs

Apple Support mentions DUAL SIM usage here:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209044

Scroll down to "Learn about Dual SIM status icons"

I hope this help!

Mint 100% supports eSIM. I've been using a 14 on Mint since release.

International versions of the iPhone 14 lineup have SIM card slots which in my viewpoint make them superior.

I wish this was more visible in the thread. Citi ended the extended warranty benefit on the COSTCO CARD, not their Premier card (not sure about the others but I'm 100% on Citi Premier still having 24 months of extended warranty)
I totally missed this. Wish I could use my Amex Plat for the extended warranty. When you converted do you lose the Costco rewards benefits?

You can but amex plat extended warranty is only one year. Citi is the lone holdout that still does two years. And I didn't convert, I'm a long-time Citi Premier cardholder expressly to use this benefit. Well worth the $95 annual fee, I've used it on two iphones and a macbook air over the years, has saved me roughly $1000 total.

Same. I go to Spain for a couple of months every summer and use a local sim. They're pretty strict over there about cellular and generally esim is only offered to contracts. Guess I'll be stuck on iPhone 13 Pro Max.
I'm on TMobile and went to Spain last year and their free internet and free texts were enough to get us around on Google maps and Waze and browse the internet. It was only slow when trying to download apps when out but if you have all your apps already downloaded it's perfectly fine. Also worked for free in Andorra, France, Belgium and Netherlands

I also need physical sim for international travel and some countries still don't support esim. I hope 15 will go back to dual esim and sim card
iPhone will not go back to dual sim. There is a reason they went to eSim. eSim prevent phone to be used by criminal enterprise you can't use and throw SIM cards

I checked with citi rep and confirmed that the best card ( if not the only card) with 0 annual fee is rewards+ to get the 24 month extended warranty.

Extended warranty is no longer offered by citi for new purchaes.
Incorrect. I can see this when I logged in here with my citi premier card -

https://www.cardbenefits.citi.com...d-Warranty

Included with Your Card
Warranties run out. Get an extra 24 months added to your warranty when you purchase items at least in part with your Citi card and/or ThankYou® Points. If your eligible item breaks, we'll repair, reimburse or replace it, up to the amount charged on your Citi card and/or ThankYou® Points or up to $10,000 per item, whichever is less.

I thought about that last month when I got the 14 Pro Max from the 12 Pro Max but use MagSafe charging and both cars have wireless Apple CarPlay

Which countries that has no issues? Probably only singapore, thailand, and malaysia. Try indonesia, myanmar, burma, vietnam or china, no e sim supported.
Myanmar AND Burma? 😀
This statement is utterly false - used eSIM in Thailand and Vietnam in the las month.

For those who are looking for a refund on Apple plus care from Apple, it's a good news that Apple will be able to refund you back. If you are planning to cancel after 30 days, the refund is prorated based on the usage. However, if you are planning to get a refund before 30 days, Apple support will revert you back to costco.com.
