Anyone ever walled one of these off to make a shed? =)
Depends on the area. Some places you need a permit for anything bigger than a small shed (80 square feet). Other places you can build as large as like a small 1 car garage (250sf) before you need a permit. My area is 120sf so technically this would need a permit. Personally I probably wouldn't get a permit unless they called me out on it, then i'd get one after the fact. LMAO
If you can't find the answer on your own, then don't bother getting this. Finding out your answer is 10x easier than building this

This is a great deal I built one 3 years ago .. requires atleast 2 people but 4 make it a lot easier .. also if you are putting it on lawn make sure you pour concrete footings for the cement anchors
Some real bad reviews about missing parts, uneven or holes not matching, bent roof pieces and more... How was your experience?

How is this anchored with brick pavers (like it's shown in the picture).
You have to below the pavers, but some people will remove the stones around the support and will put cement base if there isn't one. Most pavers will have cement base under the sand. Do NOT anchor it to pavers.

In California no permit is required for a gazebo as long as it doesn't have walls

This is absolutely false.

I just purchased and installed the grand gazebo from Costco warehouse 12 x 14 on pavers in my backyard last week. We did not anchor. You definitely do not need raised slabs. There is decorative wood around all the posts.
Dumb question - will decorative wood rot? or is it waterproof?

I have the 12 x 16. If your in the market for one, just get it. Great engineering and quality wood. Mines on year 3 still looking new. Will take 2 guys a solid 10hr day to build, just an FYI.

No missing parts, no bent roof, few misaligned holes but nothing you cant fix by adjusting the position .. overall I would buy again

That's on my list to buy thanks OP nice! You saved me some dough.

Just curious, anyone have experience or decided between the 12x12 vs 12x14? Other than the size, the roof is different so not sure if one is sturdier than the other or if they're both the same relative quality. We have strong winds so worried the roof will go flying off

For those who have this (or anyone with knowledge worth sharing), is there a way to modify this in order to close this off with nets/curtains to keep mosquitoes flying bugs out? Very tempted to purchase this as we're renovating the backyard, but some sort of enclosure is a must for my wife who's terrified of bugs.

Highly recommend you painting the wood parts with wood stains to help it hold up against the weather.

Hahah definitely. Depends on your city and/or county. I need a permit for literally anything... pergola, covered patio, shed, etc. Doesn't matter how small, technically requires a permit. So call your city and find out for sure!

Can this be easily moved a few years later. I'm planning on redoing my patio so would need to take it down and put it back up, preferable in larger chunks

How do these handle in the windy conditions? Do I need to strap it down some how? How would I brace it to a paver patio?
