best price available so thumbs up for that.

A lot of people are finding it hard to justify buying it when it doesn't greatly (or doesn't at all) outperform the similar MBP. The mini's tend to pack more punch for their price, and justify most use cases for what this offers. I can see a niche group desiring this performance for now though.

This whole generation is weird with all the offerings, because they're not upgradeable in any way, so it makes the "low, mid, and high tiers" all have different meaning when thinking long term and what your use case is.

Winner all around. Assuming your usage aligns with what this machine does best:
Support up to 5 monitors, sustained workloads with little to no noise, decent I/O for almost anyone, and strong resale value.

TY. I have been struggling to make this decision. The M2 Mac mini with 32GB memory comes to 1699 ( with upgraded Bluetooth). While this guy comes to 1799 ( with additional ports and Gigabit ethernet support )
Its a tossup between these 2 unless there is something new unveiled for Studio soon.

By the time you spec up a Mac mini M2 to equal the performance, storage and I/O as this Mac Studio, it would probably cost more.

Not sure there ... As I said on other message

I think you mean 10GbE support.

The Mac Studio also supports more monitors than any config of the M2 Mac mini, and the front I/O can be extremely handy.

Yo, thats what I meant. No word on any upcoming Studio upgrade, so probably pull the trigger on this one.

Wasn't Costco $1699 on this in January?

The M1 Max is still a top tier CPU. IMO this is a better deal than the $1199 M2 Pro Mac Mini since you get 32GB of RAM, better CPU, more HD throughput, better chassis, etc. I'm still leaning towards the 16GB M2 Mini through Apple EDU which seems like the best deal if you don't need the extra bells/whistles OR M2 Pro 14" laptop for $1799 next time it goes on sale, same as the M2 Pro Mini + $600 for a keyboard, trackpad, screen, and battery to get portability when you need it.

Yes it was $1700. This is not a great deal.

14" M1 Max (10-core CPU, 24-core GPU), 32GB, 512GB, Space Gray is $2199 ($700 off) at Adorama with code APINSIDER which means $400 extra for the monitor and battery.
