The above list may be a bit outdated since it is froman article [macrumors.com] from 2021. But considering that the issue is due to not supporting wideband, there's a high chance that the issue still exists.Also some countries like South Korea technically does not allow AirTags either. Their regulation on GPS and maps are more strict (perhaps, stalking issue?). So you will not be able to track your AirTags using maps (aka via other people's phone). They only allow you to track your AirTags if they are nearby your phone.
Worked well last fall when lost my wallet and was picked up by another when fell out of pocket in a store. Sadly by the time I noticed my wallet was gone I wasn't in that city anymore. When I got home, I contact the local police and they were game to go by where I told them to go. I saw three locations where my wallet was that at the same time every day for a period of a week. They were able to get my wallet back (had no money in it so no loss there.
