This game is EXCELLENT even with only 2 players. It's replay value is relatively low due to the involvement of playing it really well once is typically enough for each person together but dang that's a hella good play through. We've let at least 30 people borrow this game.
It's a fun game, but if you play with 3-4 people, the RNG of the combination of villains can actually make it impossible to win (especially on Years 5 and above).

It's way too advanced for a 3 year old. Our 7 year old likes it, the first several years have straightforward rules, and they build from there.

Great game, but the difficulty drastically increases the more players you have. Highly recommend for two though!

Great game, but VERY long play time. We have only played Year 6 and Year once each because they took 4+ hours to complete. We play Year 5 most commonly because it is a nice balance of time commitment (though still a couple hours), challenge, and fun.

Fun game if a little flawed. If you're not aware, the game is split into boxes (Game 1, Game 2, and so on), increasing in difficulty (and game length!). Therefore if you have kids they can enjoy the earlier Games, and more advanced players can enjoy the later ones. The difficulty does feel a bit artificial however as the subsequent games just stack villains, making play time super long once you get pretty far. The only other flaw I could find is that there isn't a mechanic to trash cards from your deck (as with most deck builders).

One or both of the expansions address these I believe.

ETA: Just wanted to say I don't want this to feel negative; it's a cool game and I recommend it for fans. Smilie

I got this to try to get my Harry Potter loving wife into more involved board games. We also have 2 expansions.

It's close enough to the story lines to make her enjoy it.

I'd definitely reccomend it at $25.
