For sure I'd get Tomb Raider from 2013. Finish that and then move on to Rise of the Tomb Raider. Once you finish that move onto Shadow of the Tomb Raider. All 3 are great games. I've replayed all 3 multiple times. If you complete them and you still feel the need to find treasure look at the Uncharted series.

What should I buy if I'm interested in adventure and a good story, but don't care for multiplayer or any zombie/survival modes?

The reboot trilogy that starts in 2013 is great. Good story, lots of adventure.

Geez I forgot that I'd apparently purchased Tomb Raider Anniversary a couple years back and have yet to play it. Does anyone have experience with it...does it successfully recapture the feel of the original or is the game/controls too dated for the modern age? I really should give it a whirl already

I'd recommend the last 3, starting with the one released in 2013. Still a breath taking game. Also some of these pop up as free give aways on Epic. I've seen TR 2013 at least twice for free in the last five years or so. But at this price is also a non braier

I'm playing through 2013 again on the Steam Deck and it's amazing how well it's held up. And it plays really well on the SD too
