Target is having Car Seat Trade-In event between April 16-29, 2023. You can recycle an old, expired or damaged car seat and redeem a coupon on Target app or Target.com/circle for 20% off one car seat, one stroller or select baby gear.

Even if it's a marketing tactic to get people keep buying new baby car seats, in a serious car accident, most parents don't want to second guess that it was their fault for skimping for an old compromised seat that ultimately caused their precious little bundle(s) to have lifelong injuries and/or die.
I also tried donating and they would not take them due to age.
